Modulus Mob

It has Bart's, which is cool but I already have that setup. I guess I could switch them out to EMG or something different. How do the Lane's compare to Bart's?

I don't plan to use the bass with any bands, just to record some solo material

I loved the LPs that I had back in the day, but they were noisy, so I sent them back. Lane took forever and then went out of business, so I moved on to EMGs. Now I'm waiting on some SGDs and hoping they'll be the best of both worlds. David described the Neos as having the depth of Barts and clarity of, well, beyond EMGs because EMG clarity is a little odd, especially DCs. He also makes some that are reminiscent of the LPs in design, so if I hate the ones he sends, me, maybe I'll trade them in for those.

I had some work done and dealt w Anderson. He was fantastic. Always called me back and very helpful with questions. The job was quoted at a 12 week turn around and Anderson had my bass back in my hands 10 weeks later. It was a great experience.

It's funny to me, but I like the Bart / Bart relationship that is standard Modulus (*And Roscoe). There's a reason these companies produce basses with Bartolini pups and pre's as the standard option. I do love the Aggie OBP-3 pre with the Bart soaps, but I think it mostly comes down to your fingers and the amp/ cab.

Sorry, don't want to be the buzzkill, but I think too many players get carried away swapping out pre-amps and pickups when it may be more critical to focus on technique, bass amp and style. My 2 cents....

I am open to other points of view.....just lovin' my Q5 Sienna with my Genz Benz amps and cabs, plus the Bergantino's on stand by. I am fortunate and I do play fingerstyle.

Note: I do not mean to offend those who can and do swap out pickups and electronics (I suck at soldering), so please see this as my opinion only. Rock On, Pete...

Eh, personally I have never played a bass with Bart's that I liked tone wise. On the flip side, I haven't played a bass with EMG's that hasn't made me take a second glance. Different strokes, as they say. EMG's in my Moduli, please :)

I've had EMGs and Bart's in my modulus basses. I like them both. Like the bite of the EMGs and the warmth of the Barts. Definitely rt hand technique and eq are large factors. On the whole I think I prefer the Bart's to warm up the carbon fiber necks.

Wow, that would not be good. Hope it does not happen, I guess it would mean no more "lifetime" warranty on the necks for original owners? Here's hoping that it's just a rumor.

It would. I wish I had known about that lifetime warranty as I would have had the original owner send it in before buying it!

Register your basses, people, it makes a difference.

Hey Fellow Modulus Mobsters:

I'm bumming at the buzz that Modulus may be closing up shop. I have no idea if it is true or not, and hope its not the case. Either way, I've got a rare opportunity for the mobsters.

I'm parting w my beloved Genesis fretless. Ive only seen 2 fretless Genesis basses and the other one was black. I'll be listing it tonight but wanted to give the mobsters the first crack. I'd never let it go but I'm one of Zons artists now and playing one of his fretless basses.
This one is in excellent condition. No issues. Sounds killer.
PM me if you are interested.

Comes with OHSC

I'll be looking for 2k but would consider trades as long as I can net between 1200-1500 cash. I'm in no desperate rush, but with my new fretless this one will be sitting in a case.

Thanks,
Derrick
