I used one briefly with my Q5, but sold it after a few months and got an Avalon U5. The Sansamp definitely gets the job done, and is overall one of the better stompbox DIs I've used, but I ultimately decided that it was worth lugging my rack around to get the best tone possible.

Whoa!!! That's an hour away. I'm not even in the market for one and I hate the burst, but that's a ridiculously low price. I miss my Q6 SS. I might have to make a move...

Hey mob, do any of you use a Sansamp BDDI? Just curious what you think about it paired with a Modulus. Just trying to get a warm tone without using a rack mount preamp...so I can just run straight into my board.

I never liked the sound with my Quantums. Too compressed and it seemed to strangle my tone. For the record I like my bass driver with other basses.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I have one on its way so I will let everyone know how it turns out. I have a BBE di-100x that I have been using that I am happy with but it is huge and i wanted to check out the hype surrounding the BDDI....searching for something warm.

I also settled on the Avalon. That was a great pairing!

The Avalon is a great DI. I decided to go for a Grace M103. It's the best bottom end I've heard from any DI anywhere. Coupled with a Q6 TBX, it's pretty unreal. But, it's very clean and doesn't really offer any of the euphonic distortion of Sansamp style boxes.

My 2 basses are a Lull M5 and a Modulus Q5. I was packing up for my gig yesterday and went for the Lull since it hasn't seen much action lately. Then I thought: hmmmm... outdoor gig, 90 degree heat, 77% humidity...sorry Lull, THIS is a gig for the Q5!

I thought the same Mike. 5 gigs this week (Monday, 2 on Thursday, then Friday and last night), used the Lull on my 12:00 4th gig, then the heat got worse in the afternoon so I grabbed my Q5 and it performed like a champ!

It´s been a while, however; That´s my main bass for 8 years, we´re unseperable..
I don´t know much about the whole heat and humidity-problem, living a five hour drive north of the Arctic circle, but I take the Lull to rehearsal all through the winter, in a gigbag, in and out of low temps, and it rarely needs tuning. Humidity swings a bit, but not that much.
By christmas, i´ll know, but I expect and forecast the same for the Modulii, seems like an amazingly sturdy and well built instrument. She sounds punchy, too

I think these are horrible boxes. They are seductive at first but by the end of the night, everything that goes through just sounds irritating. They were so popular back in the 90s and I'm glad to see that the popularity has waned.

Hey Mobsters, I own a beautiful 2012 Q5, that I have been trying to trade up to a Q6, which I don't see happening anytime soon. So I would like to change to E-C tuning and installing something like a Hipshot GB7. Any of you tried this and what was the actual tuner you used? More then a few things actually.
Relief system first and foremost.

Hardware, pickups (the type of barts has).

As well as some more minor-minor aspects.
