Modulus Mob

Are y'all still giving out numbers? Because I'm now the proud owner of this Q4! (Sorry for the bad cell phone pic) It's got some dings, and the finish on the neck is a bit cloudy, but I only paid $1200 for it, so I'm quite happy given some of the prices these are going for right now.

I only have a tiny guitar amp to play it through at the moment (dorm life), but I'm loving the sound. I'm actually surprised how well it does a P-Bass type tone with the neck pickup soloed. I was expecting that great hifi sound with both pickups, but I didn't realize just how versatile it can be, which is great.

It's got some fret buzz at the moment, but it's pretty even till about the 11th fret, where it tails off, so it doesn't seem like there are any high frets or anything. Do y'all think raising the action at the bridge take care of it, or would I need to tweak the truss rod? Thanks for all the help guys. I couldn't be happier right now.
I don't know who our Mod is!! It has been a long time since I seen a new number or a member list in here..

Thanks guys, I guess I'll start with adjusting the bridge height and see where that gets me. The action is pretty low right now, so there's room to spare.

As for the amp, I can't wait to plug it into my rig. (GK and Bag End) I'll have to wait till I go home around thanksgiving though, since I don't have space in my dorm for it. I do have an older fender rumble 15 that I can bring back though.

hope you can get rid of the buzz buddy, let us know if we can help anymore. And i definitely think you should bring that fender combo back with you to your dorm. gotta have something legit to play through.

2015 Fender American Standard Jazz
Alder Body with 3-Color Sunburst
Polyurethane Finish with Thin Undercoat

Great job! I'm just not sure why you prefer this to a straight on Modulus VJ?

Good question. The first bass I owned was a MIM Fender Jazz - I got it from a close friend, and I've always regretted selling it when I traded up to a 5-string. Once I gave up my search looking for it, I decided that someday I'd have another Fender J that was a tribute to my first, only much nicer. This is that bass.

Sweet Ben. Love it. Local luthier, someone I may know? I'd love to "meet" her!

Thanks Pete! And yes, you definitely know him... man does he do great work.
