Modulus Mob

I got to say, I pulled my 94 Q5 Silverburst out for this Saturday's show when we opened for The Wailers.. Man I love the craziness out of this bass. Wow. I put both of my G. Gould's in the closet... This bass is something special. The feel. The reaction. The tone.. I also had the chance to play the opening band's '09 Q5. Very nice, but not quite the same. Maybe because I don't care for the Q5's with wood boards as much..

Ha! Sounds like Ballin' above when you find "the one". Maybe it's the honeymoon period for me with my FU4 but I never seemed to quite bond with my MTD535. Now my Lull P4 sits in the corner gently weeping.

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I was on TB last. But I come baring good news! I have fixed up and put back together the Quantum 4 with flamed bubinga top and it is now in the classifieds. I'll happily do an extra discount for anyone in the mob, just pm me. This thing has an excellent neck that has stayed straight, through the years. Definitely one of the good ones from the 90s.

And here's some bass porn:

I don't think I've ever seen the "Modulus" or logo in anything but white. Neato!

They made them gold whenever they would install gold hardware stock, for the sake of matching.

Like most things Modulus, I don't think they were 100% consistant in that. I've seen basses both with and without. My Q5 had gold hardware before it was switched to black, and it has the white logos.

So, I keep reading the Q4's are more rare, I can only assume fretless Q4's are much more hard to come by?

I have yet to purchase my first modulus (Sunday) but am already thinking I'll need a fretless modulus...

Might as well just completely switch to 5+ strings while I'm at it... I just don't know if I'm bass man enough for fretless on anything more than 4.

I will definitely. I see you used to be from the same neck of the woods. Lived in Madison back in early mid 2000's til 2009. We started a basement venue over on E. Johnson calle9d the Gnarly House. I guess there are still shows there. I live in Fort Atkinson now.

This is beyond beautiful!!!

I'm working on a Walnut Warmoth P that's chambered, MM SS, 2tek, 2band and will get the Status treatment.
