There's a 20th Anniversary model in the classifieds with the anniversary logo at the 12th fret. It's not terribly expensive, either. (not mine!)

The ONE Modulus that's haunted my dreams since I ordered one for a customer at Mars Music way back when..........
This should hold me over until my fretless is done being built.

I have always wanted to play one of those.
I just got my Q5 back from Cranky's in Mansfield, MA.
It is a 95 w/o truss rod and originally came with EMG's and the 2 band EMG pre. I shielded the control cavity, installed Bartolini M45CBC's and an older Pope preamp.
The controls are now Volume/Vintage Tone stack, blend and bass, mid, treble. The switches are for passive/active and coil switching.
The thing sounds SO much better to my ears. Really hi-fi and very flexible due to the VTC. The EQ points are nice, too particularly the mid range frequency.
Greg did a superb job, I would recommend him to anyone.

larry the guy who actually did the swamp modulus is the only guy i can find would even do inlay on the modulus ...he is a little expensive for what i want ...didnt know if anyone firsthand has done this to there mod ......has anyone epoxied there fretboard????

When I get my Oteil in I totally plan on dropping a Sadowsky Pre in it, mainly for the VTC. After having an active tone control I don't think I could EVER go back.
I have offically been playing my current Bassstar 5 string for over a year. I think I have found "My bass". I would still like to find a 5 string Genesis with a maple board.

Wow! That is gorgeous, despite the dark photo!
Well as near as I can figure and find out, it is about a 1978 Modulus Bassstar 5'er with a "Quantum" prototype style headstock. Neck through the body and Bartolini P'ups and Preamp.. Don't know what kind of wood the wings are (I would like to find out). I spoke with Modulus and a few others from the old days, but none can give me anything on her.
