I agree, and I mentioned that in my first comment. He's an excellent player and the bass sounds great. The pickups are Bartolini!

Now, we could ask Roger Sadowsky his opinion since he's on TB.
I could bet my modern5 that bass is not fake.
I don't what year that bass is supposed to be, but mine has a different string tree. I also noticed a black hardware during the video. Once again, I was impressed by the tone and the playing in the video. If the bass is a fake, the performance certainly sounds legitimate.

For me, it's very easy to tell that this bass is fake, but I'm not interested in getting into arguments. If you believe it's authentic, that's fine.

I don't want an argument, I just want clarity from you. Say in plain language what in the image you posted proved the bass is counterfeit.

Maybe we should tag Roger Sadowsky, to have his point of view about this bass....
The neck and fingerboard on this bass are made of Brazilian ivorywood (marfim brasileiro). Look closely, it may look like maple at first glance, but it isn't.
If the people who made this bass are anywhere as good as the people who made my Brazilian Tagima, it may be even better than a real Metroline.
It really depends on the Tagima era, because the brand has gone through different phases.
In the early days, the instruments were built by Seizi Tagima himself.
Later, some models started being manufactured in China.
And some high-end models are built in Brazil by a well-known luthier, Márcio Zaganin, who is also the owner of the N. Zaganin brand.
So not all Tagima basses are the same. It really depends on when and where they were made.
I'm not a Sadowsky expert by any means, but the truss rod wheel cutout looks wrong to me. On every Sadowsky I've seen, it's squared and has minimal empty space around the wheel. The one in the video has a rounded cutout with a lot of empty space. The knobs are also off, Sadowsky knobs have the indicator line going to the center of the front of the knob.
It would be so funny if this were in fact Bartolini pickups. I listened to many of the demos of this Sadowsky model online and none of that moved me particularly. However I really like the way the bass in video posted in the first post of this thread sounds and I generally like Bartolini pickups.
