IMO/IME-seriously where do your words come from? I'd much rather people use the disclaimer FACT-which might also be overused.

"growly" ...never understood the meaning of this word since I've seen it describe so many different basses that sound nothing like what "growly" means in my head. I almost hate hearing the word.

Its almost like everyone has a different meaning for the word.
I think people just wanted to say it.So now I'm not even sure what it means anymore...that and "burpy".

There should be a thread on "commonly used bass words ...and their actual definitions."

I think this thread is unfair. People keep saying "punchy" is overused, but overused implies that the word should be used less. So how else do you describe a punchy tone?

And if you're not supposed to talk about tone, what are you supposed to talk about?

I agree with that...But I understood the thread to mean "overusing" in the sense that words are used in the wrong context.(or multiple contexts)..or that everything is "punchy" (or growly...or "thick".or.. "burpy"..or whatever that term is that people always use to describe "highs"..that I can't think of right now strangely enough. )

Thats why I think there should be a sticky "tone describing words definition" thread.

Maybe its just me, and I'm the only one who has a hard time understanding peoples uses of the "describing words" sometimes.
