I’m going to assume MusicMan pickups and MusicMan preamp mostly.
I was referring to 2 band and alnico pickup; Doesn't mention as option for Specials

Don’t see that happening .I was referring to 2 band and alnico pickup; Doesn't mention as option for Specials
I'm guessing $3,000 and up?
19mm bridge spacing on the 5 string, anyone?
IYKYK...........
I remember that thread. I really like my SR5. I know it won’t happen, but I’d be down for an SR5, same design specs except with a passive P pickup only. Dream bass right there.
You could always mod one. Here's my passive jazz ray I just finished modding:

Wow. Please share more info on the process. Did you fill the pickup cavities and refinish it?
Now I’m going to have to make it happen…off to research.
Nice!!! I'm doing "sort of" the same thing. Although... I'm using a Delano Hybrid MM pickup. It gives the option of having the full humbucker, ooooooorrrrr... switching to a J. [edit] Also... it'll be sportin' a JTEX Distiller pre, with a switchable option to bypass it, and go passive with a tone knob. Pics soon...Yup, just stripped it, traced the pickup on a scrap piece of wood and glued that in to fill the cavity, routed the j pick ups and then refinished it with some spray paint:

If one of those options is no pickguard, and more importantly if there were an option for no control plate, then I'd be very tempted.5 pickguard options

Does this mean that coveted/discontinued models are available for "too much" money?
Not at all. [I was being factious, as usual] I have my Big Al's, Sterling HH, H, Classic, and HS, plus the PRE EB Sabre's in my avatar. Sold ALL of my Stingrays. Been on the hunt for a Reflex HSS. But... it MUST be white. Not even sure I'd like it...Probably not. There's definitely a faction of people that seem to try to re-sell some new MM basses on reverb for huge prices but they never seem to sell. Rationale people seem to sell them for realistic prices from time to time, just have to be patient. Is there a particular model/finish you are thinking of?
Hmm...none of those necks have 24 frets.Sonojono is at NAMM and posted these on a Discord im in...

Yep. There's one available near me for $1,400.00 USD. But... I don't like RED, or BLUE basses, and... I'm not a FLIPPER.Oooh, so you want one of these, side from being white..:

I was lucky to find this locally (~1 hour drive in Canada is about as local as you can get) for I think $2200 CDN in 2022. Very cool bass and so versatile with the different pick up configurations. I'd assume a Big Al SSS would get pretty close though if that is what you have.
