I play all 6 on a regular basis. The past 2 months, I have been in a Joni Mitchell/Jaco mood. This one gets the most attention. I also like it for playing along with the Charlie Brown Thanks Giving and Christmas soundtracks.

This Geddy. I chased my tail for a couple of years trying fix an alignment problem on it, broke some stuff, and I think the only original parts on it are the body, neck and tuners. Maybe the knobs. Whatever, it’s perfect now, to me. It is the brightest, zingy-est bass I’ve ever heard, and you can’t dial out those maple ice picks.

Cops a good Jbass and Pbass tone plus a bunch of others. Active mode sounds like a slightly compressed version of passive and is perfect for all of the blues rock gigs I've been playing.

The TH500 + Supercompact rig just kills too.

It's a one pup, two pots, passive rockmonster aaaand it's fretless.

I wish I could tell you that I get hired because I am such a terrific fretless player.

But usually when I ask which bass to bring, they just tell me to bring the red one.

(all my others are blond natural finishes)

Those fretless stingrays are killin' me! Beautiful.

I’m so tempted to say that all of my Musicman basses are tied for first because they are. My 2007 ceramic SR5HH is still probably my overall number one and my 2019 Stingray Special 5HH is right there with it.

But, I almost can’t believe I’m saying that, at least at the moment, my 2011 Candy Red Big Sl 5 SSS is my current #1 by a small margin. I’ve only had it a few months so I may still just be in the honeymoon phase, but I have been just blown away by how great this bass sounds and how there’s just not a bad tone in the ridiculous amount of tonal variation it has. Even more surprising to me is that I’m a HARDCORE burst, tort, and FSO guy and this is my only bass that doesn’t fit my “type”. But I just love this bass!

It’s a Spitfire. Really looks great. You can do anything to a black bass, and it works.

Mine is my 1999 Lakland 55-94 which I bought earlier this year.

The ergonomics are just right, and it has that fantastic Lakland USA neck. The sound of the B string is rich, powerful, and tonally fits right along with the other strings. It's the best B I've had (better than 4 other Laklands, and some other higher end 5 strings too). It sits in the mix nicely and sounds amazing recorded; so clear but somehow fat, punchy, and supportive at the same time.

Easy!

It is the newest in my "collection" but it has edged out my p bass, jag, and stingray

G&L JB5 modded with Nordstrand Big J-Blade 5 + made active with a Nordstrand 3B preamp. Just threw some pressurewounds on to try them out and I think I heard angels sing when I hit my first note. I could play this bass in any setting and get the exact sound I am looking for with zero drawbacks. It makes it hard to ever justify wanting another bass..
