I just placed my first order with BSO a few days ago and am still waiting to be impressed. I got an email that one or more of the items ordered are not available so nothing has shipped. I tried calling today and it eventually goes to the "leave a message" program. I guess I'm just used to the way Sweetwater does customer service.

It's Saturday and it's not 10 am in California yet. PM slapinfunk, I have no doubt he'll get back to you quickly and explain the situation.

You never know whether the customer service is good or bad until there is a problem.

I got caught with about 20 sets of strings that used to fit my bass but then all of a sudden didn't anymore when DAdarrio changed their winding length. Jason just about moved heaven and earth to find out just exactly what happened, why it happened then took all those strings back and replaced them with Sadowsky strings and did it such a way that it didn't cost me one red cent, no shipping... nuthin'

You think that guy on the help desk at Sweetwater is going to have the time or the juice to get all that done even for a customer that's buying 52 sets of strings a year? I seriously doubt it.

That's great that he went the extra ten miles for you. I'm not writing Jason off. I'm waiting to see what transpires in the next couple of days. I guess I was surprised that a partial order wasn't shipped. If I knew something was out of stock, I wouldn't have order it.

On the flip side, If you live in the midwest and are in to pro studio gear, Sweetwater is the way to go. There is no "help desk". You have a "Personal Account Manager" who will immediately call if there are any concerns with the order. Also, you get a call after you receive your gear to see if you have any questions about set up and installation.

Normally get to the phone anytime... When not in the office it goes to my cell phone after some rings. I've had conversations with people at 3 in the morning.

That being said... Good morning! I slept in for the first time in I don't know how long and turned off the ringer. Will respond shortly.

Yeah ive dealt with that company. I actually have a degree in music synthesis and music production and engineering so used to he a huge gear head. Built numerous studios and produced music for video games, TV commercials, for artists and my old label. That being said... I once applied at guitar center but they had no interest.... Sooooooooo...

Thanks for contacting me! I actually discovered that a certain company dropped the ball and did not ship an order to us that should have been shipped in July. If we received that shipment then your order would have shipped same day.

Shipping your partial order on Monday, the missing set should be here by the end of the week.

My first order with bassstringsonline.com arrived today. Was finally able to restring two of my Brice HXB405s that still had the original strings from the factory installed. Now they both sound amazing.

Just posting to say that my experience with BSO has been awesome. 6 days from placing my order to string arrival (from California to Canada) for a set of Conklin SIT 7 strings.

Excellent variety, affordable as all get-out, and (in my experience) very, very responsive to e-mails.

Just got my first order in to BassStringsOnline. Must say the customer service (before I was even a customer) was fantastic. Very quick responce. Judging by all the posts on this thread I'm assuming Jason is a cyborg, or more likely just very dedicated to his work. I am very happy to have found this site and BSO.
Jason I noticed your pic for SLaPiNFuNK here at talk bass, are you a lefty?
