It's not a Fender. The parts are licensed by Fender. Fender won't honor any warranty.

So I am visiting Barcelona right now. On Tuesday night a number of colleagues suggested we go to a Jazz club. It turns out that on Tuesday they don't have a band, but instead a woman was reciting poetry (in Spanish of course, which I do not speak). Both my basses are Warmoth "Fender" builds. If someone asked me what I played, I'd tell them a Fender Jazz and a Fender P. If I were to sell them, I would list them as Warmoth builds with some Fender parts. 'Nuff said.

Grammar and punctuation aside, to me a precision is a style of bass, much the same a jazz or telecaster. Body shape, pickup style and placement dictate what the style of bass is regardless of who made it.

IMO the wood is all that matters. If the body and neck are genuine, then its a Fender.

Much like the above me said, if the shell is a 66 Mustang, then its a Mustang.

Having wood is very important, thus the rise of Cialus and Viagra production. However, I digress, back to the discussion of grammar.....er I mean bass.

How to see if you got a real Fender?

Would Fender exchange the Bass in the time, they had their warranty on them, with you tinkering with it?
I hardly doubt so.
Conclusion is: It is a Bass out of Fender parts, but since it wasn't assembled by Fender, it isn't a Fender Bass.

Dingwall builds their Basses in China and assembles them in Canada. Would you say that they are Dingwalls as soon as they left the Chinese Factory. I wouldn't say so.

To be honest, I think you should work on your grammar. English is my third language (after German and French), and even I was shocked by that grammar. I am in no way a grammar Nazi, but at least some form of proper grammar would be appropriate

I hardly doubt so....as written would indicate that Fender would have a high probability of exchanging the theoretical bass in question. A more effective statement would be: "I very much doubt so." or I do not think so". Carry on....

At some point in this orgy of bass parts and grammar beat downs he said he got the parts from Fender dot com. which is what everyone should be basing the discussion on. Warmoth is warmoth, Fender should be Fender etc.
