I barely got to play it tonite.

I have a bassman tv series duo ten that has the passive tone stack. I got this amp dialed in almost the same, but the mesa isn't quite so vintage sounding. I probably need to dial back the tweeter some more.

The real test will be this weekend. I have an outdoor gig and the duo ten usually struggles without a solid wall behind it. I'm positive this guy won't have any problem being heard, lol

I really want to put my Bassman 300 Pro up next to one of those but GC said it'll be months 'til they see one. :(

I was finally ready to make the leap into the tube power world last year. I had been saving all last year too. Right before I was ready to buy, Fender dropped this on the market. Its like they read my mind, lol.

Btw, I am not an endorser. Fender won't even give me the time of day..

I am humming and hahing over a 100T at the moment. Just sold a bass so the readies are there, but wasn't totally convinced when I tried it. For me there has to be some advantage to owning it over Orange AD200 (I would still keep the SVT VR) I currently have. The shop has both the Super Bassman 300 and the 100T with 610 and 810 cabs in stock. I think perhaps I will need to take my Bergantino cabs in as this is what I would be playing it through.
I wouldn't be using the overdrive feature, weight on the 100T is about the same as the AD200 so other than a DI and automatic tube biasing there is no pragmatic reason to do it. It has to boil down to clean tone and headroom and in my quick play with it I wasn't fully convinced. I wanted to be convinced but I wasn't, need really to gig it and feel it playing with the band. I am convinced that I won't be getting rid of my VR though. As with others I need more reviews and feedback on reliability, a big deal maker for me would be whether or not Fender has managed somehow to increase the clean headroom on the 100T over the original tube Bassman 100s (which I loved for tone but just always seemed to run out of grunt once you got really going).

The 100T is 100W and the AD200 is 200W, right? I suspect they're both nice, well-designed amps. So, don't you think it's pretty unlikely that the 100T will come anywhere near the AD200 for clean headroom?

Too damn right ya won't be selling yr SVT-VR, unless it's to me, next time I'm over there Tim1 :p
I used a V4BH into my NV610 & while it DID sound wonderful at 'fairly loud drummer' levels, it was pretty much ALWAYS with a good amount of pwr-tube overdrive.
Into the NV215, it wasn't really CLEAN ever, at decent gig volume.
Still, I dug the tone. So I'd imagine the 100T to be pretty similar- 4x6l6's 'n all

I just replaced the bad output tube in my 300 Pro and it kicks hard enough that I need a bigger cab to really demo it. I think you're going to enjoy that head. :D

So, I got to fiddlin around with it some more tonite.. and I hooked up my medium sized cabs...It has that old lovin' feelin. Made these cabs sparkle. Even at low volume.

My old svt4 pro was a different type of amp for sure. Too much eq for me. It had a zing to it that I couldn't tame.

This super bassman head is different than my duoten mainly in the fact that it doesn't have a 'gain' for the clean channel. I'm assuming the channel volume = gain? I set them about the same for my passive jazz anyways. Right between 7 and 8. I can't go wrong with that much gain! Lol

Nonetheless, setting the passive eq to the 2-10-2 (closer to 3-8-3) really got me super close to the same tone as my duoten. The super bassman is much fuller and articulate.

I also noticed that this amp gets pretty warm.
Its not a practice amp... well,

Maybe a BAND practice amp, lol
The 100T would be much better suited as a 'at home' practice head.

Still can't wait to gig it this weekend.

I'll bet the 100t isn't close the AD200 and won't really work for gigs. Shame because that power soak feature is really cool. Imagine a DI post power tubes! 300 doesn't have it, just the standard post preamp out. I demoed both and the really wasn't blow away with the 300 tone. Maybe it's the different power tubes...maybe it my back trying to trick my ears :-)

Anyway, I can't wait to hear your gig reports Fenderphil!!!

I really LOVE my SM 12.0 AE 212 combo but....I don't need (but I want) another tube amp. Lets see...time to sell the Sunn 200S... The Polaris (Dyna-kit III) ..the Guild Thunderbass... the....20 tube guitar amps I hardly play...the...the... 10 basses gathering dust....the guitars ...the cabs... OK I'm keeping the B-15 haha

GOOD..GAWD GAS IS A HARSH MISTRESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just hate thinning the herd at this point in the economy.

peace Kirk

I'll bet the 100t ... won't really work for gigs.

I don't know about the 100T. But, I've played a fair number of gigs over the last 5 years (most on drums, for the record). All either Rock/Classic Rock or Blues stuff, in bars or small clubs. And I can say with total confidence that my Ampeg V-4 or the Traynor YBA-3 that I have been using recently (both amps are around 100W), played through my Aguilar GS410 or my Bergantino NV610, would be PLENTY for any of the gigs I have played on in that time (for whatever bass player was actually playing the gig ;)).

So, really, my point is, there's a lot of gigs where I think the 100T would be perfectly fine (probably even qualify as "great"). Whether it works for you and your gigs most likely only depends on what kind of gigs you're actually playing.
