BTW, don't be alramed if there's a little distortion on some notes. it was overloading the H4n's mics a little, but i had to do that just to get enough level to minimize the hiss.

Honestly, I can't tell on these. To make a guess I say #3 is the SVT. Good stuff
From the 15PR400 clips, I'd guess that #4 is the "real" SVT, as it sounds a bit "phatter", while #3 is a little more "sterile".
I'm gonna guess that #4 is the 7PRO and #3 is all tube SVT but i'm not very experienced with Ampegs.
#4 sounds like the "real" SVT to me. Love my 7Pro and John you inspired me to do a bit of tube rolling this afternoon in mine. Ended up taking out the Raytheon "baldwin" and went with a grey plate RCA 12AX7. Just sounded "tighter" down low.

that's a good question. just trying to have a little fun, especially for those that say 7pro's don't sound like real SVT's.
I'd say 4 this time. Has a richness that will leave me giving the 7 Pro even more respect than I had before if it turns out to be 4 is the 7 Pro. And I like the Faitals a little better, too.
I'm going to go with #4 as well. I have enjoyed this thread. I bought a 7-pro when they were first introduced, and I as well probably tried 20 different NOS tubes in mine. I always thought it was a great sounding amp.

track #3 is the SVT (and my VR has NOS USA tubes in it)
and track #4 is the SVT7Pro. not bad for head that weighs 70lbs less than the KING.
