Ya, I know it looks heavy, it weights 8.5 lbs so let's knock that of right away, lol. It sounds amazing. You'll hear it. Kinda like nothing I've heard and everything I've heard all in one. One things for sure, it's born for blues and classic rock!! Here's some pics and a video.
I'm starting my collection now. I think I'm off to a good start. And yes, the boost is useless, lol. Those '70s Ibanez basses are amazing. I used to collect them. At one point, I owned 2 '74 Artists (gorgeous, great sounding basses, though I never dug the boost mode.) I still have the Korina colored Explorer and Flying V models and a Rick copy - all mid-70s and all beautifully built, fantastic players.
I'm a die hard Leo Fender guy I have, 6 of them on one form or another. But I'm no fool. The vintage ones simply aren't worth the money IMHO. Especially when the newer ones are light years ahead of them in every category. Except the coveted "mojo" I guess. Which I don't give a damn aboutSo many people focus on acquiring vintage J's and P's, but this is a true collector's bass.
Wow. I'm humbled. Thanks man.Cool bass, cool playing! I clicked on this thread expecting some kid bragging about his new Gio Series bass with a Green Day sticker slapped on the front, but THAT- that is a damn fine instrument. Your playing is top notch and that tone is so thick you could chew on it. Good stuff.
