The title says it all, my wife picked up this beauty at Guitar Center for my birthday. (On sale)

Ocean Turquoise is a great color. Plays great. Just a quick cell phone pic,, I'll do more this afternoon if the sun comes out.

Ok, tough crowd today I guess. No love for the Ocean Turquoise.......Any way, here's another pic, great bass by the way, all I had to do was tweak the rod a bit, and its a keeper.

Players have a different neck profile, different pickup, new color options, I also just picked up a player p bass and not really a highlighted feature but it's light.

It’s tort, not black.

Yeah its a tort pickguard. Mines really dark.

Mines stamped with a MIM serial number. But, I read somewhere that they have the American player neck, the new alnico 5 pickups, and the custom ocean turquoise finish. Not a bad bass at all. With all the variations of the P/J out there, I'd been looking for a nice P. This fits the bill perfectly.

I've been in the same boat for the past 18 months wanting to add a nice P to the herd but I refuse to pay the going price for the new Fender Professional Series P. I had finally decided to buy a Player Series Buttercream P last week, so I went to order one but the store had just taken in a 2015 American Std P in my favourite colour combination which cost a couple of bucks more so I bought it instead.

It’s tort, not black.

That's the only obvious problem. No point in turning a perfectly good bass into a salami sandwich. The only thing it needs is a different pickguard.
