Yes, the covers were on the bass right out of the box

Great looking bass! Is this how Fender applied the foam mutes? Very different thickness and placement when compared to the original '58.

Stick with the blonde. Sunburst is way, way too common.

I would not say it`s too common, but it is common. In 58 there was not too many standard and even custom colors to choose from.
D Bopp, keep that P 58, chances are you will not find another in other color which is that light. Nothing wrong in looks either!

I'm not going to exchange it. Playing it this morning at church. It's awesome. I still have the rounds on it, but will put some flats on later.
I believe the blonde bodies are ash, and the burst and black bodies are alder. So it's possible the blondes are all lighter weight in general

That is beautiful. I'm curious about the "1 of 46" on the plate; especially since the serial number appears to be #59. Also, since it's a "Special Edition" I wonder what may be different? I'm assuming you bought this from a local (to you) shop.

how is the nitro? is it of a sturdy formula or do you think it will craze easily? due to my location and situation in general i have to deal with relatively tremendous temperature and climate shifts. so i'm a little hesitant
