Just in is my new Tony Franklin Fretless Precision P Bass !!!!! Just love it ... Neck is smooth , plays and sounds great !!! God this is a fun bass to play !!! My first fretless !!

nice - i have one too. I ditched the original tuners though - shaved half a pound off the bass.

Is yours brand new? I'd love to get a black pickguard like yours....

That actually is giving me some small GAS pains. I am no Fender fanboy, but that is one gor-juss bass guitar.

I've tried to master fretless several times but I just could not get the knack no matter how much I practiced. I thought I had it, only to be sadly disabused of that notion on hearing recordings... :(
 
That'll be a little streak of natural Ebony grain pattern (might be a splash of sapwood) in the wood - and all credit to Fender for keeping it natural and not staining the heck out of the board just for the sake of uniformity

probably macassar ebony. Not all ebony is solid black. Is the bridge pickup in these T.F. Signature basses a special wound "hot" Dimarzio?

It is a special wound pickup most likely modeled off of his Dimarzio he had in his original ..
