Do that. The Cadillac Cowboys.Nice find. ... And two-years short of my birth year. ... I'll be in Dunedin this winter I'll look you up and check out where you'll be gigging. ... Love to hear it roar in person.
I wouldn’t mind leaving behind a hit record too!I like knowing we bass players will be remembered by some of our basses we leave behind. Music is our gift that keeps on giving.
Nice!It sounds incredible. Deep deep tone, very round. I’ve been playing through my old Ampeg SB-12. I can’t wait to play it with my band.
The bass and a Deluxe amp were $351.83View attachment 4485749
Holy crap this makes our current prices not seem so bad
I’m not worthy, really. But, at least it’s not going to be locked away in a collection never to be seen again.DO YOU KNOW HOW LUCKY YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To die for 10 times over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(This is in my top 3 TalkBass threads of all times!)
Gives more room to play behind the pickup. I did that, too. Most likely it's been reversed from the day he brought it home. Many players flipped the bridge cover if they left it on.
Unless it impedes tone or the ability to play, I'd leave it alone. The bass looks pretty clean and ready to go, but now upon closer inspection it has a fair amount of dirt and grime that is decades old. Would you give it a thorough cleaning or leave it alone? I’m leaning towards leaving it alone. It has such great mojo and it sounds incredible.
And takes the foam mute out of action.Gives more room to play behind the pickup. I did that, too.
Amazing find. If it were mine, I wouldn't clean it. I think it adds a lot of character. The bass looks pretty clean and ready to go, but now upon closer inspection it has a fair amount of dirt and grime that is decades old. Would you give it a thorough cleaning or leave it alone? I’m leaning towards leaving it alone. It has such great mojo and it sounds incredible.
I’m basically a rocker. My wheelhouse is Rolling Stones, Petty, blues, old school country, outlaw etc… I am now playing in a Cajun/Zydeco band, that because we have an accordion we also play a couple polkas on special occasions (Octoberfest etc…). Man, as a rockin’ bass player that Cajun stuff including the polkas, really rocks hard. Super fast and busy and you almost can’t overplay… any run/riff that pops into your head is fair game… I play more busy/creatively now than in almost any band I’ve ever played in, and I probably played in 50 bands!(Must of been a hell of a Polka band, eh?) LOL
