Sounds like a dream set-up to me. It's great to have complementary gear that helps you get the most out of your bass. I also tend to like the TH better with J as opposed to P PU's or when I'm using a bridge/saddle PU vs one closer to the neck.
Quick question to all the AG 700 owners....
Does yours make kind of a clicking noise twice upon turning on before the operate light turns on?

Yes, perfectly normal, that’s the sound of the amp cracking it’s knuckles getting ready to pound.

That's normal with any amp that uses that particular ICEpower amp module.

I’m considering swapping the GK for either an Aguilar SL410 or 212, anyone here uses them with the AG?

I tried the (2) SL112's - tone was amazingly vivid and plush, however, in certain environments there was a lack of bottom, and drive that made me rethink using 12's. There are some bassists I hold in very high regard that swear by those SL112's but coming from 410, 810, 2 x 210 cabinets - I couldn't adjust to it.
I currently run the AG700 through SL410x: best 410 for all occasions. For example, in the top 40 soul funk band the bass tone has to be strong and driving, without getting in the way of overall balance of the rhythm section (done and done). In another band, supporting an Elvis tribute artist, again the bass is key but in a different way (the tone is a little more old school p bass). Even though I use a Sadowsky J bass, I'm able to dial in a decent tone that sounds great in the mix of piano's, guitars, and drums.
I've found more versatility with the SL410x than I could get with the 2 SL112. When you need power, tone, and flexibility the SL410x is hard to beat.
If I were to compare to the last cabinets I played [TC Electronics (2) x RH210 - I would say the SL410x is more mid forward with good bottom. The RH210 warm tones, and more sub-bottom. Playing with both cabs on stage, the RS210 was a nice complement to the SL410x, but the aesthetics were all wrong - LoL
There are times I would like to run (2) SL410x - but stage volume is trending down on most of the gigs I play. More band members are using IEM, so I may hold off schlepping more gear for the now.
I currently am running AG 700 with SL 4x10 loving the sound but also have a GK 2x12 and a Trace Elliot 1x15. Anyone else run a combination of either of these in a live setting. I don't play out a lot and was curious what the best sound would be.
You mum & dead gave you two (hopefully) working ears to hear how things sound. I suggest the best course of action is to use them along with the fingers on your hands to listen to and make the necessary adjustments to get the sound YOU WANT.

I meant to add that the GK 2x12 is 4 ohm and the Trace is 8 ohm. I just don't want to damage the head. I think 2 4ohm is 2.67 and shouldn't be a problem right? The 1x15 sounds great at home better low end but still crisp, and I didn't want to try the 2 x 4 ohm until I get clarification on will it do 2.67 without damaging the head.

AG700 supports 3 x 8 ohm cabinets, or 1 x 4iohn + 1 x 8 ohm cabinet (2.67 ohm load)
The DB751 will support 2 x 4 ohm cabinets (2 ohm load)

Thinking of picking one of these up. Anyone know when preamp is bypassed via effects loop return if the master volume still works? I love the idea of trying different pre's in addition to the lovely sounding ag700 pre, but hate it when master volume from original amp is cut out.

AG700 has been my main head for gigs and the EQ is really great live. I sometimes put the Noble DI in the effect loop but since it's not passing by the preamp I have to crank the master volume. For louder gigs it's not the best option because you lose some volume. To be honest, I prefer to plug the Noble in the Input of the AG700. I usually set everything at noon and go with the EQ control on the Noble. The AG EQ is for my on stage EQ.
Does anyone who owns this amp have experience bypassing its preamp and does the master still work if you do so?

Combined with the bright/deep buttons on the Aggie, it's a close to my long-gone DB750 as I've ever achieved. Only 'problem': when I run this setup through my Epifani UL410 and/or Aguilar SL212, at a high volume, I have to strap the DI to the top of the head so it doesn't bounce off.
