New Aguilar Compressor pedal: "TLC Compressor"

Hey EDIT: BONGOMANIA it'd be great if you could write a good review for the TLC (which I'm sure you will from reading lots of reviews off of your site). I really dig my Compulator but would be willing to part with it to fund for a TLC. Damn GAS. Thanks!!!!

Dave is the Aguilar guy, not the reviewer. 
As with all my reviews, it will be judged on its merits and weaknesses, not its GASworthiness.
And for good reason. He's tested and reviewed more comps here than anyone else I know, and goes so far as to document his experiences for us. Thanks, Bongo! You've saved me and a lot of others a lot of time, hassle, and money.
I see that the TLC is finally available at a few outlets.

Going to check one of these out tomorrow. I play a mainly clean signal, but I'm kinda thinking that is would be a nice addition to the rig. After dealing with Aguilar for years I have nothing but praise for these guys. It's one of the few companies that seem to be trying to listen to the needs of the players. Above all they're really nice people to deal with.

I tried the TLC, and I really liked it! I also tried the other 3 pedals Aguilar makes, very cool indeed.
I bought it, I'm still tweaking it but so far seems very good and quiet. The one thing that has been touched on before and I feel is a completely ignorant design, the case protruding beyond the jacks. It looks like I'm going to need to "alter" that mistake and cut the case. I don't have a pedal train board and you have 3 options, straight cables, a pedlaboard that loops cables under it or cheap cables. I use an NGM pedalboard which means I need 90 degree cables and they're VERY hard to route. Hey, Aguilar, is that going to effect my warranty when I cut your case to the size it should've been made? It's a nice pedal but had I known it was going to be THIS much of a hassle I probably would've gone another route. I think the Octamizer would be cool but I'll never know because I'm not going through this again.

I have a custom pedal board and only use three pedals - compressor, VT and Sonic Research ST-200. I don't think I'll have a problem with the Aguilar design, but will report back if I do.

I use George L Cables and have no problem with routing cables on my tone hammer and my power supply has 90 degree connectors. I like the extended cover looks sleek from the players perspective. I have a pedaltrain and it seems like these pedals were built for this board.

Dave has said that that is the case. The slots in the Pedaltrain allow RA plugs to be angled downward, away from the flanges.
I was just stating that it was easier for me since I have a pedal train. And that he has options insted of cutting the pedal.
Btw did you get your tlc yet? Waiting for your take on this pedal your site is very helpful and I always send people there that have question on what a compressor does and of they need one.
Why would I buy a pedal train board just to accommodate 1 pedal, esp. when I already have a great pedal board? The better question is why would a manufacturer design a pedal around ONE pedal board design? Seems silly to me. At least the pedal is good.
Our pedals weren't designed for a specific pedalboard. I never said that. I am being mis-quoted.
I did say that the pedal board that I personally use is a pedal train, and that it mounts easily. I like the pedaltrain; but as you noted in your previous post that you can use it on your board with a different cable or a straight plug. The website for your pedal board shows all types of effects units with several different types of connectors. Some of them are straight plugs coming out of the top of the units. So it is not necessary to try to saw bits of the box off or be so frustrated.
I'm glad you think the unit sounds good. I am extremely proud of this compressor and it's design, both electronically and mechanically.
