I'd play/own one in a second. Simply because of my feelings on the man and his family. I can understand, to a point, the objections based on opinion that it's "trying to make a buck" off of his reputation, however Dean, in my opinion, has done a lot to not only promote their products, but keep Darrell's legacy alive.

There's an exhibit going around the world, same one that was at NAMM, which showcases many different versions of custom art by numerous artists and it's dedicated to Darrell.

Hell, I think it'd be great to come out with a signature drum set, tuba, flute, (insert instrument here) dedicated to Darrell. In my book, anyone who's familiar with Darrell, and the Razorback/ML design will instantly have a thought of him when they see this instrument, and that alone is cool in my book.

Yea, this pretty much pisses me off.

But further more.... I like pointy, from a traditional perspective. Explorer, Destroyer, V, & the new Warwick Cruiser/Stryker. That's about it. Do I own any of those? no... I DID own a Destroyer for a year or two, back in the 80's.

But, that thing just looks stupid. Its fine to commemorate a given artist, Les Paul's , Stevie Ray strats, and if thats what Dimebag played, than make 'em & sell them AS GUITARS. He was NOT a bass player.

Maybe Fender will market an Eddie VanHalen P-Bass when he dies?

That's cool & I'm glad it works for you... It makes sense, you both being Texans. For the rest of us, not so much.

UMM......the only thing about that is, Les Paul wasn't a bass player either, yet you have Les Paul Basses? nobody seems to to get up at arms about that.:eyebrow:

Dime saw many Razorbacks be made. He handed Zakk Wylde the Wyldeback (my name fro Zakk's Razorback custom) a fwe weeks before Dime died.

And if Dean made good Dime Razorback basses, I'd be interested. But this one's made of basswood body wings, and I don't know how good Dean is in their basswood quality as say, EBMM is. But if it played nice, and I could get it for cheap enough to also get an EMG CS/DC set, I'd love to have one.

in an interview with d. zelinski he said " ... he sent me a body shape that he cut from some foam, and it was the Razorback. .....The prototype was delivered to my shop the morning after Dime died. We were going to send it to him on the next date of his tour." but then i've read elsewhere that even though dime was never able to personally give the one to zakk, he had it made for him and signed- but as always, i could be wrong, and usually am! :smug:

Uglay. The headstock on all the dean ML's and the V's are terrible. This one is no exception. I find this as cashing in on Deans part. Calling is basically a Dime signature is wrong. If they said they borrowed from Dime's design, I could be understanding. But that just isn't quite right.
