I can't speak for the Six String neons, but I used Neons on my acoustic bass for awhile and they worked great both unplugged and plugged in. They were actually louder the the phosphar ones unplugged.

However, and perhaps it was my phrasing, I'm a bassist / acoustic guitarist and i was looking for neon acoustic guitar sets.![]()
