I've had a set of these for a while, joining this forum and seeing all the cool stuff has inspired me to bust out my 5 string ( that hasnt been out of its case in over 3 years ) and slap these on it. They're pretty sweet.

New DR neon strings

I have a 4 string Ibanez Srx720 and i've modded it to use the low B rather than E due to the type of metal my band plays, tuning an E that low just never sounds great.
I've never really liked the feel of playing a 5 string though I'll no doubt end up with one in the future.
Anyways, I found the DR Neons on the internet after seeing a youtube video of some awful band design the skyline. I got a 5 string set for about £20 and didn't use the E. They sounded really good and lasted ages. i got them like 7 odd months ago? I'm not sure, a long time anyway. But the coating is still pretty good and I'm only now deciding they need replaced.
I'm going to venture into another set just as a personal preference.

I love the sound of them. I try to get somewhere between Craig (Sick of it all) and Mike (NOFX) on my MTD 635 for Bathhousebetty and these strings get me there sonically. Really Punchy and Cut through it nicely. Nice round bottom end too! And yes they look pretty sweet!

How do you keep the coating from wearing off under your right hand? I find the metal starts to show through after only a few weeks and it gets really bad in only a couple of months.

They look cool but make a freaking mess. I haven't used them for 6 months and I'm still cleaning green dust out of every nook and cranny of my bass and case
What colour of Neons would you guys recommend for putting on my black cherry Spector Rebop? I'm really fancying putting a set on, just not wanting a colour clash or anything, haha.
