Made as a preamp/di for any instrument (including vocal mics) it is basically an old Neve console in a stomp box.

Ok well maybe not a Neve console, but I believe that the idea Adams was after is right. JHS is releasing some sort of pedal to mimic a NEVE or at least the "spirit" of it...akin to all the LA2A type of compressor pedals that are not really an LA2A-in-a-box (whether or not the maker explicitly says it is).

It could very well have some Neve circuitry inside. If they are trying to market on the Neve reputation then I suspect that there is something Neve in there.

One of my favorite audio engineers, Bob Carver, showed the world back in the 80’s that with engineering and physics that he could duplicate the sound of any amplifier. So JHS may have done something similar here… captured the vibe of a particular Neve console without any Neve circuitry. It’s not an easy task, but it is possible.

Sorry, to clarify:

it's not "basically a Neve console in a stompbox".

It's actually just "basically a Neve console in a stompbox".

They're being slightly cryptic about it since it's not officially been released yet, but what it intends to do is act as a preamp/di that simulates running through and old Neve console. Details on exact parts/scientific findings/flux capacitors/etc are yet to come. Just thought it to be an interesting new pedal worth noting here.

I'm not much for preamps personally (I have really good pickups in my bass for a reason) and I'm def skeptical on it's Neve "authenticity" credibility, but at least it's a new cool idea! More companies should be thinking this way, really intriguing.
