new gear alert: JHS Color Box!

They are kind of like the Fulltone of the pedal world, oh, wait...
Except Fulltone was doing something that very few were doing at the time. Taking production models or out of production models and giving them a professional build. JHS taking pedals that are currently being built by other builders and copying them isn't quite the same thing. Especially with their supposed moral leanings.
I was just being humorous, not defending JHS.
Seriously though, the Colour Box looks like an interesting pedal. Definitely the first JHS pedal that has me even remotely excited.The only other pedals that I have ever considered from them were their Blender pedal.

Sounds very cool. And if it is anything close to the Neve sound - then I am in.
But as someone who has been lucky enough to record a fair amount using Neves and then who has checked out endless products that said that they were a Neve clone, I can assure you that creating the sound is much harder than saying that you have created the sound. I have never seen or heard a "clone" that was an actual clone.
Still very interested to hear this pedal.

i side with spencer on this one.
the original video talks about how great the original units are- not about the sounds that come out of this box.
the demo video on bass posted above is pretty cool, but for my uses my VT bass has me covered i suppose. this could be a more useful unit, but not worth selling what i've got to grab one of these.
edit- also..... price?? if its $120 i'm in. if its $399 i'll forget it exists an hour from now..

This has a lot of potential if it actually sounds good. But, even if it is amazing, if it is priced the same as the very high end JHS pedals, then I will have to just let go of this dream

The Morning Glory is actually a pretty incredible OD pedal (I've only heard it used with electric guitar though, not bass).
I believe Roy from Mutemath used the MG quite a bit in their earlier albums. Not sure what he's using now though. I saw an old photos of his board and a sansamp bddi and MG were there.
Im not sure I understand the point of this pedal, running it through guitar amps> I mean, isnt the point of running into a Neve console "going direct", as JHS also says on their website?
So basically the Neve colour should be a Direct signal, or am I missing something? Or was it practice to run the DIrect signals out of the consoles into amps again, and mike them up?
In other words, shouldnt this pedal just be used as a DI box to stay true to the "vintage console sound" idea?

Mammogram is down but I'm working manually
Was at NAMM the last two days (today hanging out with Munji). Um, yea, the color box sounded great. I was only playing guitar though. 
Sorry. I have dual interest. There was no bad setting but if you know what it's like to be at NAMM, you really can't hear all the nuances with all the bleed from 5000 other booths.
Oh, and Pigtronix had some great stuff along with now owning the rights to Supro amps which looked deliciously blue and vintage.

Based on their pricing Model....I'm guessing this is going to be in the mid to high $300.00 range
