Hal0~! This is the first time i ever visited the miscellaneous section. I'm definitely new. I'm only 13 so have mercy on me. :) [a very perverted one] I have an Aria Pro II with some girlie stickers on the tuner buttons. Don't ask me why I stuck that. My amp fell down the stairs once due to some reason. I think I'm weird too. And I'm not gay.

Hi I'm new, been lurking for a while and I enjoy the post here. I'm 44, been playing tuba since I was 12, took up the bass about 15-16 years ago, play guitar, dobro and harp.

Played in various musical groups right now I play bass at church and have a once a month lead guitar gig in a country band.

I have seen a lot of new names in TalkBass in the past few weeks and would like to say "Welcome" to any of you I might have missed.

If you've registered recently, tell us a little about yourself and your music. Don't be shy, we don't bite. We have a grace period.:D

Hi -
Name's Jake, I live in Ohio right now (not from here originally) and am nigh on 25. I just started playing because most my friends are musically inclined and none of them are bass players. Current setup is an early Rivoli that is in the process of being setup for me this week. Just picked up a Peavey 115 amp for a good price. Music includes almost everything, but recently has been focused on a lot of jazz.

BTW - unlike most of the users here, my username reflects little about music. Instead it represents my other love/hobby - Volkswagen's. For all dub lovers, check out my other home at the VW Vortex. The giant represents my large stature.

Very cool. Welcome everyone.

GTI, I travel to Dublin pretty regularly as my company has a big office there. Very nice community and town. Being from Youngstown myself, I'm also a huge OSU fan! :)

Voodoo, it always scares me to see someone born in the 80s, but late 80s! I'm getting old. Okay, maybe not that bad, but I was 12 in 1987! :) I can only wish I was playing bass at that age.

Hello friends,

My name is Ignacio, I´m from Caracas, Venezuela and playing in a rock band called "Ricochet(ccs)". I´ve been playing bass for almost 9 years. You could check out my band´s web page anytime (is in spanish, though) , and download some mp3´s (see my profile). Thanks for the welcome, I REALLY like TB.
Maybe will become a suporting member soon.(sorry about gramar/ortografic errors, i´m improving my english)

Very cool. I live in Dublin, but work in Columbus. What company? Per chance, do you know any good instructors around here? I really can't afford it, but I am really trying hard to get the theory side of things down enough to understand why I am playing what. Thanx.

You too eh?

Sup,
My name is Chris, and I'm from Texas. I'm 19 years old and have been playing the bass for a whole month now. It's the first musical instrument i've ever tried to play, and I really like it a lot. I play an Ibanez GSR 200 on a Crate BX15 practice amp. Right now I'm just trying to learn easy, but recognizable tunes. So mostly theme songs or popular alternative/rock. If you have any suggestions for a newbie, I'll take 'em. Also, I will be moving back into a dorm in a few months and am in need of some good headphones for practicing, if you have any suggestions there, that would be cool.

My friends calls me FM. I live in Drummondville, in province of Quebec(it can explain my english...)

I've got an Ibanez Ergodyne, 4 strings. I used to play in a hardcore band, but this time is over now. I am trying to start myself a new style, i discovered blues little time ago and i really love that. My favorites bassman are Les Claypool, Flea, Tim Cutherford, Chi Chang, Jaco Pastorius, and maybe you don't know him, Vincent Peake(from PQ band Groovy Ardvaark)

See you

I am not exactly new(I have been here almost 2 months) but have not formally introduced myself. My name is Micah, and I live way down in south Louisiana. Please spare me the Cajun jokes as 1) the part of LA that I live in is not at all Cajun, and 2) I have heard them all. I play a MIM Pbass through a sucky amp, but hopefully that will change soon. I play mostly in my church, but I have recently begun to dabble in jazz and funk. I am 22 years old and have just celebrated my first anniversary. Talkbass is a great place and if I knew any other bassists I would spread the word.

I have been here for a while now. But as usuale being my anti-social self I never introduced myself (don't feel bad even at parties I don't introduce myself). My name is Joel and I'm originally from Lousiville, KY. The past year I lived in Baltimore, MD. Now I go to school in Cincinnati, OH. My profile is filled out so you can see my gear. Soon i should get a new bass and amp. SWEET !!!

"Proud Mary"? Hey Jazzbo. I told you not to tell anyone my name when I hang out at the Castro...:D

I was playing bass in 1987! Actually, It was the year I started. Of course, I was also 16 and living in Brazil, but that's enough about me for now.

Welcome, all. Keep 'em coming!
