I'm curious on you direct thoughts comparing the BBII to the Two10. I have a Two10s on order and also own the BBII but I haven't been able to find my sweet spot with tone on the BBII. I have a One10 and it just sounds awesome with it. This has led me to the Two10s thinking I may be more a BF 10's guy with the WD.I’ve been playing around with my two day old WD-800 and all my cabs (3 Barefaced, 3 Audiokinesis). Yummy is the short version.
Right now my favourites are 2x12’s. A Hathor 1203/C112T stack and a BF SuperTwin. The tone is just amazing. The AK C1533, BF BBII, Two10 are great as well but I’m really digging the depth and richness that the WD imparts on dual drivers. EQ flat except some Treble and Passive Mid cut, HPF off and Damping in Low.
I’m also really digging the Damping control. A whole ‘nuther level of sweetness.
I believe I’ll be gigging this for a good while.
I was able to successfully mimic the WD set flat with an Arkham Zephyr and a BB800 by playing with the Zephyr’s tone Stack (BB8 flat). I’d consider that heady praise for the WD. The Zephyr is a very good piece of kit, and I have a soft spot for the James Tonestack.
Now I just gotta figure out what to sell to get the 215.

New mesa subway amps and cabs!

I'm reading SO MUCH about the Subway amps, but not so much about the cabinets.
Since I'm currently all set for amps, I'm interested in hearing more about the cabs, in particular the 2x12 and 2x15. Has anybody been able to compare them to the Barefaced cabs?

they are still pretty new, I think a lot of people are just getting them within the last couple days or are still waiting for them to come in(myself)
I'm both jealous and afraid of anyone who owns both. When I bought a Barefaced cab, I stopped buying cabs

I got the WD-800 delivered on Saturday...ordered a few days before, as I just literally could not stand being without one after reading this entire thread.
I know the topic has come up earlier about new adopters of the WD-800 and old adopters of the Big Block 750.
I wish I could make some more educated comparisons but I think it has been almost 10 years since I had my Big Block.
Life has changed.
Basses have changed.
Cabinets have changed.
I think when I had the BB750 I was rolling with a Berg NV610 which was an excellent combo.
Currently I am coming from a Darkglass 900 head and an AK Hathor 1203.
I really am not gigging much these days (Trying to work on that!) But this is tonal bliss.
Really liking the dampening feature and I am looking forward to plugging the ports on the 1203 to see how that changes things.
All I know is that I don't need another cab, but this amp is making me want another cab. What do we think about combining AK and Mesa cabs? The OCD in me feels like I should get another AK cab because they match. Hmmmm.

I think it’s pretty cool (and distinctly TB!) that the new amp is being compared to hyper elite pieces of gear and coming out unscathed!

Sorry if this has already been answered, but does the new 2x15 use the same customized Faital drivers that the original Subway 1x15’s use?

Yes. This way sensitivity, power handling per driver and frequency/phase response remains consistent. These cabinets also adhere to the engineered "mix and match" capabilities of the original cabinets.
What does anyone here think about a individual 12 mixed with a 15? Could that offer a nice tonal option or should I just go with my original plan of 2x15 singles??

Full disclosure, I have not had the chance to try the 12 and 15 Mesa cabs for more than a few minutes in a store (bad place to do that).
My personal take is that I like some character in my cabs but not too much that I need a specific amp to make it sound right. Both of these cabs at are on opposite ends of the spectrum.
The BBII is a wonderful cab if FR/FR is your thing. The Two10 is wonderful if a fully voiced cab is your thing.
I’m in the middle. I’m like some voicing but not too much.
For me, the AK 12’s are perfect for all my amps. And the WD-800 is tied for first among all my amps after only 2 days.
If I had it all to do over again, I could’ve saved myself a bunch of money.
But where’s the fun in that.

I have Berg Hdn112/210 as well and the WD sounds fantastic through them as well but I try for a 1 cab carry as often as possible and I just don't love either of those cabs individually. If the One10 is working for you then the Two10 will definitely fit the bill. I’ve got my Two10 under a PF50T and that’s a combo that works together. Like they were made for each other. The WD is a pretty close second with that cab, but I personally like it better with the AK 12’s or BF ST probably because the bigger cabs let more of the amp shine through.Thanks for your take on the cabs. For a one trip carry, the BF ST wins for the wheels. That’s why I’d love to try the Mesa 215.
For reference, I currently own several other Mesa amps: a D800+, a Strategy, an mPulse 600 and a 400+. (I also frequently gig with an Alembic
F-1X / Crest ProLite 2.0 and a Reeves 225). I’ve gigged all of those amps with the fEarful 15/6/1 cab in this venue over the past few years, so I am am pretty familiar with both the cab (I love it) and the venue’s acoustics (they are horrible).
Short version: I absolutely love the WD800! It has the tonal versatility of the D800+ coupled with the warmth of the mPulse. I’m amazed at the difference in character that exists between 10 o’clock and 1 o’clock on the gain knob! At 10-11 o’clock the WD800 has a clean tube-like warmth and clarity that I just love. Inherently brighter than the mPulse (but nothing that backing off on the treble control a bit can’t cure) and close to my beloved F-1X in warmth. Push the gain to noon and there is a bit of tube saturation or “fur,” especially when I dig in with the Alembic (a high output bass). The EQ is powerful and musical, and the HPF was crucial to getting a decent tone at this venue, where my cabinet is within a couple of feet of the corner of the room, surrounded by glass
. The acoustics made it hard to hear a big difference with the damping control, but I was able to tighten the bottom end a bit by using it in the middle position. Nice!This amp won’t be for everybody - the D800+ is fine if your preference is always for a clean and quick tone. I can imagine that many players will like both the D800/800+ and the WD800, but I also suspect that most will prefer one over the other. They are in the same general tone ballpark, but the differences between them are real and usable. The WD800 does the light saturation thing better, and with the 800/800+ it’s easier to get a quick, modern tone. Each can get close to the other, but to my ears the WD800 is better at clean and quick than the 800/800+ is at light to moderate saturation.

The ST and BT would be overkill for my needs but I never realized they had tilt back wheels. That's the one thing with lightweight neo cabs is while they're lightweight a bunch don't have casters.
The WD is just so good with everything I've tried!

You’re gonna love a BF Two10/One10 stack with the WD800 in 2 Ohm mode. That’d be giggley.
Not gonna lie, been thinking about that combo when you need just that little bit more with the WD.
