No. I'm saying that the walls of the neck pocket would be angled and the sides of the neck would be flared out at thesame angle where the body and neck come together. Similar to a dovetail neck joint on an acoustic guitar. I may have to do some experiments myself to see if that would work out. Could be alright.

Not bad looking, but I am not a fan of the "art basses" as I call them.

To correct myself, I love them, but would never spend the coin to own something that I could ever ruin. I love Jersey Drozd, and have since I picked up a bass buyers guide back in 1998. Before that, I never knew who they were.

Never been a fan of Fodera, even though they are incredible instruments (I played Wootens Yin Yang).

I see that these are a copy of the real deal, even if in a slight way. I would rather go for the real deal.

To make another point, the copies of Fender this and that, almost everything is a copy anymore. I feel that my Pedulla Rapture is a fresh redesign of a classic (Looks kinda like a Jazz, but not really). It is different enough to be it's own, but you can see the inspiration. I feel these are kinda like that, but a little more "copy" to me.

Nice work, great photos, but I'll stick to the real deals.

He's having a hard time to handle the local orders and his production is very small, since it's just 2 guys to answer emails, phone, regular maintenances, setups and building. Don't know if he's looking to get any bigger.

Just adding another picture for the heck of it.

Sure there are similarities in many of the pictures in this thread, perhaps some so close that the builders should be embarrassed about it. But the vast majority of the market is very derivative, and buyers often shy away from anything completely original.

Alex, those basses are gorgeous and the workmanship looks to be first rate.

As to the argument of his designs being directly traced back to any other builder - so what. I have been in the entertainment industry for 28 years and rarely is there a new thought or idea - you want to talk about blatant rip offs? Come play in my yard for a while. No one cares what the negative folks have to say except for the negative folks themselves. They are certainly entitled to their opinions, I just don't give them a second thought.

These basses are worthy of all the praise they can get.

To those cats I say, well done!

Basses look sweet! Yeah they may be a bit similar visually to pre existing basses but,..

WHO FREAKING CARES!! It blows me away that people get so caught up in the the visual edifice of a MUSICAL INSTRUMENT. These aren't industrial design products; they're meant to make a sound first and foremost.

For that matter, the most important (I should think) elements that would be most SENSIBLE to be patented or otherwise protected would be things like; wood combinations and basic construction types, neck shapes and nut widths, pickup design and locations, and electronics.

EVERYBODY has tried to cop the tone of P, J, MM, Ric, and other "original" basses, and nobody makes any fuss about it. But instruments are made to make sound, not sit behind a glass case being looked at and judged for original design points. I can't believe people wig out about this all the time, I honestly can't.
