#0003 is effectively serial number 1 in the wild. #0001 is in our "museum' collection, #0002 is currently a photo unit.
I received the DCX today. HOWEVER, I also checked my bank balance soon after and realised that buying the BassRig SV, the Cali76 CB AND the DCX Bass in the same fortnight wasn't a great idea, especially before Christmas...
So I'm going to return it, although I got to give it a quick try at home (not the best thing, it's always much better in practice with the band). It's alright, I felt like it was quite "fuzzy" in its nature, but again, not the best test situation.
I think I'll buy it again next year and will give it a proper band try out. I got to say though, I'm happy with what I'm getting out of the BassRig SV + Cali76, it's got some nice drive to it.
IMO this function is what makes the DCX so special.I'm liking the DCX last in the chain. Used first, the downstream effects tend to wash out the goodness. Used last, it seems to restore goodness right before the DI. (This may not apply to the Bass Rigs, however, which I have not used.)

Likely in the minority opinion, I'd have returned the Cali, kept the DCX, and used the difference to give a gift to the family, especially when you kept the BassRig.I received the DCX today. I'd have kept the DCX Bass over the Cali76 CB as well. I haven't played a BassRig, but pedal preamps aren't my thing (I use an on-board preamp and a tube DI) so I doubt I would have kept the Super Vintage.Likely in the minority opinion, I'd have returned the Cali, kept the DCX, and used the difference to give a gift to the family, especially when you kept the BassRig.
Was going to echo the same sentiment.Likely in the minority opinion, I'd have returned the Cali, kept the DCX, and used the difference to give a gift to the family, especially when you kept the BassRig.
