I have only one, but that is what I am sooo tempted to do with a second one…i have two and i use them separately. one as an overdrive and the other as eq/preamp.

I don’t have two DCXs, just one, but if I had two, I’d put EQ last (like a preamp before my amp), and OD before. But I might be wrong.
Well, actually, I just listed my DCX Bass for sale if anyone is in need. I'm happy with the CAPO covering the same territory as my beloved DCX.If anyone tires of their DCX, I may be looking to pick-up a second one as my OD pedal. Please PM me.
as far as i know, the adaptive circuity is always on in the eq mode, and not on in the overdrive mode.If I'm getting this correctly, when the voice switch is in "flat" position, adaptive circuitry does nothing in EQ mode and the treble is not being rolled off in either EQ or OD modes. Correct? You need to have it in either "med" or "drk" position to get the adaptive circuitry magic to happen, yes?

Experimenting with placement during my rare opportunities to do so these days. I mainly use it in drive mode, as I really struggle to find bass drives I like…this is one of the few. A bit of downstream compression and harmonics from a tube helps add character and tighten things up to a degree. I’m considering filling in the indicators on the DCX knobs (or changing them over completely) as my eyes struggle to make out the settings in low light…the blackout version of the DCX is a sexy beast, but practical considerations will win out I think.
