I'd say every demo of it on YouTube was recordedHas anyone used it for recording?
But I also used to wonder how the tiny people in my television could change costumes so fast when I changed the channel

For me the DCX live is useful in two main ways…
1. It’s the most natural sounding EQ I’ve heard in a pedal preamp. It preserves the character of your bass at all settings.
2. The adaptive circuitry makes it clean and sparkly when I play light, and warm and driven when I play hard.
These are not flashy features, but they will make FOH very happy.
Similar experience.... I tried to get the Noble HX model (Regal DI) to match the DCX tone and could get sort of close, but could not get the touch and texture and superb EQ of the DCX from the HX's Noble.100% true. It is not a pedal that changes my sound a lot, but I miss it when it is not there. I always think that I could replicate it in my HX Stomp but I can't completely. It is an awesome pedal and I think it really shines live.
Sort of holds true for any fancy gain pedal it does its magic best when fed with the signal it expects. So I usually use comp after my “always on” gain pedal.+1 for comp after DCX
The warmth of the “adaptive circuitry” seems to shine more with comp after.
Ever since @Origin_Effects wrote the above I've been thinking about reaching out to purchase #0002. After all, black is cool and serial number #0002 is even cooler--and if there's one thing I know about playing bass, it's that looking cool and having cool gear is way more important than skill#0003 is effectively serial number 1 in the wild. #0001 is in our "museum' collection, #0002 is currently a photo unit.
Nice. I have a feeling the DCX could become a new staple on many pedalboards, much like the Cali. So this will be a great little piece of history.Ever since @Origin_Effects wrote the above I've been thinking about reaching out to purchase #0002. It arrived yesterday!

I'm sorry to dethrone you lol. You could always raid the vault in Oxfordshire for #0001...I have number 0003, which WAS Number 1 in the field until you got 0002. Congrats neighbor!
Uh huh.Anyone here using an Broughton RFE & DCX?

I believe @Rich67 has #0004 so together we make a bass08053/DCX Bass sandwich. It probably doesn't taste good, but it sure sounds good.

I have some questions to who using 2 DCXs as EQ and Drive pedal.
1,
・EQ(always on) + OD(as needed)
or
・switching EQ side one to OD side one on each occasion?
2,
If you use both at the same time, how would you put in order?
EQ > OD or OD > EQ?
