New Show Your Jazz!!

hey Hz of Doom, I can't let you be the only one in here rocking an aerodyne! :bassist: This thread is beautiful, jazz basses are so sexy! I'm in japan so it's a japanese aerodyne, it's been 3 months so far and I still haven't heard him through an amp (except the 10 or so times I demod him in the store) I can't wait to get it home and throw in some vintage pups or something. His name is annakin (yes im a huge nerd :D ) this was day one, origional plastic on and everything, even the fender of japan tag hanging off of it!

There are some really nice J's in this thread! I'd like to add my latest acquisition.

I have been working for a while now towards getting a vintage Fender J and it all finally came together. I shopped around, played a good number of old J's in wonderful condition - and then I found this one - it spoke to me right away. Search over. It's the sweetest sounding J I've ever played.

'62, pro refin, slab board w/correct refret. Everything else is original. This bass has "it".

Congratulations man. It's a beauty. Did you find that bass at Good Guys Guitars?

tightbidness - yes I did! Kevin is a good bud of mine. I haven't gotten around to taking my own pics yet - this is off his site. I've since added a repro bridge cover.

I played all the basses he's showing plus a few more. Wonderful instruments all - he's got some really fine stock. But this one....I knew when I picked it up it was the one. Very even response all over the neck and the sweetest G string. Medium weight - very comfortable. It also has a very thin neck profile - reminds me of my Sterling (actually now I can say it the other way!) I feel very fortunate to have been able to grab this. The best of both worlds - an original '62 with a new finish and frets. :D

Question of the hour: What would you guys rather have:

The Fender jazz bass of your choice , OR
A custom selected jazz bass with parts of your choice from Warmoth.

A custom selected jazz bass with parts of your choice from Warmoth
that way you can get your colour, block inlays if you want'em, everything is in your hands, plus it'll be cheaper
