New Sire P Basses!

i have been seriously considering getting a fender american elite precision bass but now i want to see official specs on these basses.
price range anyone?
Since there aren't really any additional high end features on the PJ, I'm hoping it comes in around the same as the V7 (prices going up as of Feb 1 though). Will depend on the usual ash / alder body choice I bet.

OK I overreacted, but I am legit butt hurt p bass player's are excluded from a great brand.
Don't get me wrong, I do understand your frustrations, I imagine you've been waiting for this announcement hoping for a true P. Sorry. But enough people ask nicely enough, they've got a track record for listening. This just seems like a harder sell than most requests, since it's a fairly large expense to their manufacturing line, and (I think) a large percentage of players are ok with both. But never hurts to ask.

Why are they P basses and still have jazz nuts??? Makes no sense. Too cheap to develop another neck for these.

So, this sucks for P bass players. Apparently, this brand is centered around the entire bass playing world who play jazz basses and their necks. They must want the woman and child market so bad that they will keep the thinner neck at all costs.

Y'know, when my neighbor's spoiled and bratty grandchildren haven't been around in quite awhile I know I can rely on TalkBass forums to provide a full ration of the kids' pouting and whining. If you don't like a particular bass don't buy it, don't play it. Pissing and moaning just makes you sound like ... well, ... like you sound here.

I own over 30 basses. Some have Jazz style necks, others P-Bass style necks.

I grew up playing Jazz basses and Rickenbackers, both of which had thinner nut width's than P-Basses.

I like Jazz necks because they're easier to play for me, given my hands. Ditto the Ricks.

P-basses, to me, slow down my playing, but it doesn't for others and that's cool. To each his/her own.

I have a Sire V7 - it's incredible for the price. I look forward to picking up one of their PJ basses.

Because the only thing you are allowed to do on the internet is make happy, overwhelmingly positive comments. Good for you tiger! You really got me there.
