NEW Squier 50s LPB Single Coil Precision

I do like that bass. Very much so. I just wish Squier didn't make it because I am not a big fan of Squier basses. But who knows, maybe this is the one that will turn me into a Squier fan. (No sarcasm intended here). I wish SX would make something cool like that. And the color is awesome, no matter who's name is on the bass.

By the way, thanks for the SX Bass Club plug Joey3313. Free publicity is always appreciated.

I'm curious if it will be available in other colors?

I doubt it, most of Squier's upper line stuff (VM line) only come in one color.

This appears to be a new line, "Classic Vibe." Both the P and J use that tag. It also appears that this may be the start of a new premier line from Squier given the $299.00 price tag, VM's run between $249.00 - $299.00.

I found some interesting tidbits in the description:

The Squier Classic Vibe Series reflects that simultaneous commitment to excellence, value and ‘vibe’. Mirroring classic Fender designs, the Classic Vibe offering is not intended to be era or vintage correct – but rather imparting the ‘vibe’ of a classic Fender design. Each with distinctive feature set combinations – all adding up to one classic looking instrument. Great sound, vintage looks, unbeatable value – Classic Vibe!

Classic Vibe Precision Bass® ‘50s: When it comes to the early ‘50s Fender® Precision Bass®, the playing experience is unique both in terms of sound and feel. The larger neck and wider string spacing (1.65”) promote strong pocket playing, with a warm, earthy tone that is supportive and inviting. With the new Squier® Classic Vibe ‘50s Precision Bass®, this unique voice can now be added to your bass arsenal at an amazing value.

The beautiful Lake Placid Blue finish over a basswood body is an eye catcher for sure, while its custom ‘original’ single coil AlNiCo V pickup delivers that old school, ‘50s P Bass® tone. Open gear tuning machines sit atop a gloss 20 fret maple neck, both solid and stable. Modern refinements such as the flatter 9.5” radius and HiMass 4 saddle bridge make this bass more user friendly in terms of set up and playability. A winner with killer looks and a unqiue voice! Case not included.

Very interesting, notice the HiMass bridge. It will be interesting to hear from someone who has a chance to play one.

I wonder what else Squier/Fender have in mind. Maybe we'll find out during Summer NAMM!?
