New Tech 21 Geddy Lee DI-2112

That's cool! :)
I wish they would have put a footswitch on it to engage it and maybe a footswitch to mute?

Totally agreed. If only for those using batteries, or just not wanting a bright blue LED burning 24/7, they should've included an on/off switch and ideally a mute too. Plenty of space for another for the Drive. Terrible oversights that'll cost them sales.

Plus, also, too ... I think Tech 21 is killing it product wise ... yet killing the wallet as well with multiple iterations and incremental feature build-outs of similar products. Clever, and not too considerate. But screw it -- they've got me hooked and I'm a fan.

Yes, at this point, there are enough TECH 21 Geddy devices that I think I'd like an overview of them so that it was clear which option was better for what type of players/situations.

A combined out would have been so helpful for many of us.
On my GED2112 rack pre, you can do an internal jumper to combine the outs, or (as I do) just run both outputs to a small mixer.
I'd have bought one of these in a heartbeat if they had just included a combined out.
Even so, its a cool option for pedalboard players who don't want to mess with rack gear.

The lack of an on/off switch, 18V preamp, and dual DI's indicates that this is meant to be a true preamp in the sense of a standalone unit instead of a supplementary one. Geddy's design team is sticking to the philosophy of a unit designed for ampless applications.

It would have been cool if they added an effects loop in this unit but, that can be fixed with another pedal. For the money, I would be hard-pressed to choose between the rack-mounted preamp and the pedal unit.
