It should be a fun month to watch, if the o-line isn't hopelessly offensive for a change. Most of those games are in Seattle, too, which is an advantage for the Seahawks.

NFL 2018 Week #9

Denver is all a-twitter (pun intended) about trading D. Thomas to Houston just before the Broncos play the Texans.
Many interpret that as a sign that rebuilding is taking place, but Elway admits nothing.
I immediately drafted his backup, Courtland Sutton, onto my fantasy team because he's now the #2 Broncos receiver. My fantasy season stinks, but he may help a little.

The chargers are so full of promise every year. It seems last they they reversed though, huge losing streak to start the season and then finished strong so maybe they finally do something this time.

Yup. They had Chad Kelly as #2, but he got drunk and stupid, got arrested, and they cut him the next day. Now they have Keenum and former Cleveland Brown Kevin Hogan for an emergency QB, and they added former CSU QB Garrett Grayson to the practice squad. I was happy to see Grayson get a break, as he's a good QB and spent some time as a rookie with New Orleans, but got cut late in the process.
Net result: Keenum has to go badly in the tank to get pulled. There's no one they trust behind him.
Personally, I think the O-line is so bad at protecting the QB that many of the problems are due to him needing to run for his life because of the crappy O-line play. But he's still missing too many passes, and especially throwing too many picks.
Regardless of what you hear, I think Denver is a rebuild project, not a reload project.

Raiders @ 49ers - Why?
Yet another primetime snoozefest between two teams going nowhere fast this year. Combination of Chucky's Comedy Tour and home field 3. Ray-duhs 17 Niners 20
Sunday Early Games:
Steelers @ Ravens - Could be good, could be not fun. Who knows. Both teams have been inconsistent, but the Ravens a bit more inconsistent. Still, home field 3, and Tucker redeems himself for the missed PAT 2 weeks ago. Steelers 20 Ravens 23
Bears @ Bills - Bills are finished for the year, the Bears aren't. Bears 31 Bills 10
Buccaneers @ Panthers - As much as I am hoping for FITZMAGIC!!! to show up, I just don't see it happening. This is one I will be happy to get wrong however.

Chiefs @ Browns - Well.....the Chiefs are still trying to figure out how to play defense, but they have that whole offense thing sorted just fine. No way the Browns keep up. Chiefs 42 Browns 27
Jets @ Dolphins - At least it isn't in prime time...to underachievers swinging rubber chickens at one another....home field 3. Jets 24 Dolphins 27
Lions @ Vikings - Can't figure the Lions out...they embarass the Pats in prime time, then can't keep up with the Seahawks. Vikes...who knows, they should be the better team, but I have a funny feeling about this one after the Bills snuck up on them, and right after getting a spanking from NOLA last week...Lions 30 Vikes 27 (upset special)
Falcons @ Redskins - The Skins have just enough defense to slow down the Fails; the Fails have the Fails defense. Falcons 24 Redskins 31
Texans @ Broncos - Another team with the wheels going in 4 different directions, the Broncos won't keep up with the Texans. Texans 34 Broncos 17
Chargers @ Seahawks - Interesting matchup, overachieverrs (Seahawks) at home against underachievers. Tough to pick, but going with upset #2 here, home field 3. Chargers 24 Seahawks 27
Rams @ Saints - Game of the week, and not just because I'm a Saints homer. This is the class of the NFC versus the class of the NFC - one of these teams is likely to be the NFC Champs, and this game is HUGE for seeding. Both teams have made moves in the past 2 weeks to shore up their defenses; both teams have brutal offenses (and, they had a double-digit win with less than 300 yards of total offense - this should scare every team in the NFC to death, because that is an aberration). This will be a slobber-knocker.
If the Saints defense can keep up their NFL leading rushing defense (yeah, I know, THE SAINTS?!?!?!
), and contain Gurley, they win. They will. But it will be tight, and set up a show-down in the post season - hopefully in NOLA, not El Lay.

Packers @ Patriots - The Packers are ALMOST a good team. The Pats are ALMOST as good as their fan base thinks they are. As much as I'd like an upset here, I don't see it, but the Pats fans will sweat this one to the end. Packers 30 Patriots 34
MNF:
Titans @ Cowboys - Woof. Titans looked for real a month ago, but now, meh. The Cows are the definition of meh. Another prime time meh game, but meh versus meh means it could at least be semi-watchable. I think the Titans somehow find a way to wake up just enough. Titans 21 Cowboys 20

Nah, GB/NE is the game of the week.
The best football team in the NFL is playing one of the best teams in the NFL and it features two of the best QB's to play the game ever. No disrespect to Drew Brees who also falls into the 'best QB ever' category. Goff may end up being that good, but it's way too early to consider him as such.
It's not hard to argue for Tom Brady as the best QB to ever play in the NFL, that is if wins and Super Bowl trophies are important to you.

It's a tough call. Rodgers/ Brady almost never happens and they've both been at the top of the QB game for what seems like forever. I think I'm going to enjoy Saints/ Rams more but the Pats/ Packers definitely has more cache.
Anybody think that Terrelle Pryor takes some snaps at QB for the Bills this weekend? Debating between picking up him or Keke Coutee for my fantasy team. It's a pretty deep league.

That's the reason I put the GB/NE game ahead of LAR/NO.
The great news for football fans is you don't have to pick one. You can watch them both thanks to the folks who made the schedule.
