Steelers pulled it out. Watt and Highsmith were stellar. When you keep Jackson bottled up like that and allow only 10 points, it’s an accomplishment.

The D came up big in the second half, but the Ravens threw away the game with unforced drops in the first half.

Steelers are now in first place in the AFC North.

Tomlin and Canada will get contract extensions any day now.

Haven't seen any complaining about the refs in today's Chiefs/Vikings game come up in this thread yet. But I did learn some interesting stats today that are relevant to previous chat here about the refs allegedly favoring KC.

According to the NFL Penalties site, the Chiefs have benefited the fifth-least from penalties this season. NFL Penalties - 2023 League Penalty Stats - View by Total - NFL Penalty Stats Tracker - Data From 2009-2023

And since Mahomes became the team's starting QB in 2018, the Chiefs are the third-most penalized team in the NFL.

That 9ers game last night was as dominant a beat down as I have seen in a while. I have to say, my son and I enjoyed it, although he started to feel bad for the ‘Boys after a while. I told him I had a childhood hatred of that dynasty to fuel my continued enjoyment, which he sort of understood.

Brock Purdy continues to shine, that defense is a monster, and who is this Jordan Mason guy? On a night when the D bottles up McCaffrey he averages 7 yards a carry straight up the middle.

Did you see Canada's reaction-more like no reaction- to Picket's TD pass? The rumor is that he was not making the play calls, at least in the 2nd half.

Yes, it was bizarre. Everyone else whooping it up and he's sitting there in a daze like he doesn't know what's going on.

That seems to be be normal for him though. :sour:

I felt like that video unfairly puts Canada in bad light, and this from a guy who can't stand him. Yeah, he's not freaking out, but that's not who he is. He looked more like he was analyticallly viewing the play as it developed.
If anything, maybe he's thinking to himself.... 'what the thunder? It does work when you throw the ball down the field'.

Now if he could only remember that teams are allowed to throw to the middle of the field....and that designed screen plays can work

Well, the Broncos are evidently going into rebuild mode. The coach has specifically said they're not planning to move players, but they dealt Randy Gregory this week and Frank Clark just voluntarily took a $1.7 million pay cut which is clearly intended to set him up for a trade. There are also back room reports of discussions about other players such as Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton, neither of which are worth more than a 3rd or 4th round pick as they've underperformed for years.

At this point I think there is more than a 50/50 chance that Russ Wilson stays, as he has performed pretty well when receivers make any effort to catch his passes. If he gets dropped, it's because of salary that's too high. The coach Sean Payton isn't going anywhere, but betting in Denver is that the GM George Paton should put up a for sale sign at his house. He may not last the season. Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph will be lucky to have a job next week; the defense has been execrable.

I'm glad I have the Seahawks to watch, and I am keeping up with the Packers as well, but it appears to me that Love is unlikely to be more than a mid-pack QB.

On the other hand, there's Minshew Mania in Indianapolis, and I'll be keeping up with Gardner Minshew II. He's been proclaimed the best backup in pro ball, and frankly he's better than some of the starters on other teams. One of the coolest guys ever to play in the NFL!
