Where's the headscratcher emoji?
The Pittsburgh offensive line was one of the most improved units during their second half surge, so they go out and start signing offensive linemen? I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one who understands the key to a quality offensive line in the NFL is continuity.
Then they're just 'shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic' with the LB group. Yes, they cut some guys and signed others, but none of it feels like an improvement other than letting Bush leave.
What makes it even more troubling is Pittsburgh used to be known for quality LB play. Now it feels like they throw a few ideas against the wall and wait to see what sticks. Zero player development. Then the one guy they sorta developed, Spillane, they let him walk. Did he get overpaid? Maybe, but I'll promise you now none of the jokers they've signed will play as hard as Spillane did until the whistle blew.
I don't get it.

Auburn University is having a 'pro day'. I don't like these at all, but have come to realize it's the NFL nowadays.
But tell me please, why in the thunder is Scam Newton going to be there? You're old, you're washed up, you had your time, you're done. Get over it and move on. Don't show up and try to steal the spotlight from these young guys who do stand a chance to play for an NFL team.

I continue to be impressed with Ryan Poles’ personnel decisions. Given the glaring holes at multiple spots on both lines, finding a #1 WR was possibly his biggest challenge, followed by getting more high round picks for whatever holes he can’t fill this year. They have both now.

Even though he missed out on McGlinchey, getting Nate Davis to take over at LG, allowing Cody Whitehair to go back to Center, fills the biggest hole on the line. Whitehair spent his first, and best, years there. It didn’t get a lot of attention from the professional speculators, who all predicted Whitehair would be cut, but Sam Mustipher was the worst starter last year, not just on the O-line, but the entire team. He spent so much time on his butt, they should have let him bring a chair on the field.

The D-line still looks like a mess, but they filled both starting LB spots. Unfortunately, it’s looking more and more like the pass rush may have to rely too much on stunts to be consistent. There are 2 key pressure positions, on that line, and they don’t have either one filled yet. Getting both in the draft is probably going require some luck, especially since he traded away the 32nd pick in the Claypool trade.

I've seen some headlines about Anthony Richardson from the University of Florida being a top pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
Bad, bad idea. He's going to be a nobody in the NFL like he was a nobody in the SEC.
It's all hype with a capital P.

Update--a 700% return over 24 years, on top of millions in yearly profits, despite the fact that you did a really bad job.:rollno: Oh well, at least this jackass is finally out of the league.

WR Williams, 3 other Lions suspended for betting

So we have two players suspended for six games because they made bets (NOT NFL-related) from their phones while in an NFL facility. Seriously? The NFL is joined at the hip to sports betting, yet this is "not consistent with our organizational values".

The other players mentioned in the article who were actually making bets on NFL games are just dumbasses and deserved what they got. ;)

Steelers wanted a tackle. They had to trade up 3 picks to get one of the top 4. My preference would have been the kid out of Tennessee, Darnell Wright. Will Anderson, Jr. said Wright was the toughest tackle he had gone up against. But they ended up getting Broderick Jones. Should be a good one.

I thought they might go Corner since Gonzalez was still available, but they had a lot of needs.

I don't get it. The offensive line wasn't one of the Steelers problems that needed addressed in the first round.
Matt Canada is the problem with the Steelers offense and Broderick Jones isn't going to fix that.

Steelers definitely needed to upgrade at left tackle and this is a very good pick.

I'm hoping they go CB for the #32 pick. Joey Porter is still available. :)

I was thinking the same thing this morning. I wouldn't be surprised if they grabbed Brian Branch at #32, but he's more of a Safety. I'd probably go with Porter. I think they also like Wisconsin Center Joe Tippman, but doubt they'd take him at 32.
