Go figure. The hottest team in the NHL and you get see the one home game they lose in two months. Eh, you can't win them all.

They've been loosening up the strong hold on D that they were holding down and getting away with it....
Hopefully this will be a wake up call.

'09 starts off with a bang for the Pens.....another loss!!! At home even. Why do I get the feeling we are starting to circle the drain? Maybe we need a new coach.
The one bright light lately, my guy Fedotenko. He scored our only goal today. Maybe we should focus on re-signing him since Staal has basically disappeared after going on a tear a few weeks ago.

You guys were weak on d from the start of the season and injuries aren't helping any. You knew it was to be a rough year after loosing so many great players from last year.
That said,Don't be so down, you get to watch the best player in the league.The poster face kid ain't bad either.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting a 55 or 60 win season, but this is worse than I expected.
The thing really gnawing at me is the inconsistency. When I see that, I look to the bench first and then the players second. I know we don't have any players to lead this team. As good as Sid may be, he doesnt command any respect in the locker room like Roberts did last season.

The canada vs Russia game at wrl jr yesterday was something.
The game was tied 'till 2 minutes at the end when russia scored and canada tied with 5 seconds left! Then won the game in shootout

Hopefully after beating the Bruins the Sabres can pick up some momentum. We can't seem to get any kind of streak going lately. Vanek, Roy and Pominville finding the back of the net again are pluses, however.

Your Pens let me down today. The Rags take 1st in the division by beating Pittsburgh this evening. Not only are the Pens lacking in D they seem to be lacking in O as well. Ho hum. Kind of bittersweet as normally I'd be happy with a Pens loss, but I was actually rooting for them tonight.
The Fly boys need to beat AO and the Caps tomorrow to regain the 1st in the Atlantic. Not an easy task since the last time these two teams met it was a 7-1 shellacking by the Flyers. AO seems to be on fire as of late, knocking my boy Jeff Carter back to second place in the Most Goals in the League column.

I'm just about to the point where I am afraid to go to the Pens website anymore. Another day, another loss. I sure wish I knew what was wrong with these guys. Maybe we need a new coach.
We got zilch on a 5-on-3 tonight. Failed on eight more PP's tonight. Guys aren't concentrating, making stupid mistakes, getting mad on the ice. When I see that kind of crap in football games, I look to the coaching staff. All signs to me that a coach is losing his grip on the team. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I haven't watched enough Pittsburgh games to have an answer for ya.
They gotta right the ship though. With the season nearing halfway the playoffs may be out of the picture.

Even though I missed the end I enjoyed that game a lot. You could tell they got to that Swedish goaltender. I liked how the fans really gave it to him and that Hedman (?) guy (#4).

Boston loss a great defensive battle last night they kicked the wilds butt in the third and lost 0-1.Little bad luck lot of nice goal tending.
