all in all, they called the game a bit too tight for my taste. let them play.
Boston played a good game tonight. I enjoyed watching them play, even though it didn't turn out as I would have preferred. I didn't see any cheap shots or punk play from either team. Boston sure earned the win tonight, but I think Pittsburgh looked a little rusty. That layoff was too long.
I only saw highlights of the LAK/CHI. I was happy to see Hossa chip in a goal.

Hiding behind a ref is always easy. Crosby has been doing this his whole career. Whining and running away after doing little dirty things to others.
Give me a break. Any other player in the league does it and its called chirping. Crosby does it and its whining. Stop whining

Crosby has had a huge reputation for being a whiner and a scaredy-cat since he joined the NHL. This is absolutely nothing new, sorry. Best player in the league? Fo' shore. A whiner and a guy who likes to provoke and never finish what he started? Also 100% true.
A small guy like Tootoo will provoke and do dirty cheapshots throughout a game but answer the bell when it's rung. I respect his skill and accomplishments, but not his actions between the whistles. He acts like a big baby half the time.

We have a back to back tonight. That's cool. You don't see that often. We need more scoring chance--they were barely in the Blackhawks' zone last night.

Anybody else find the King/Hawks back to backs a little merciless? Both these teams played game 7's on thurs. I know someone had to play today to get the game every other day thing but....
In the last 2 mins of Bs/Pens, I'd like someone to clock Sid's time from whistle to finally getting in the box. Has to be a record, right? Like, he thought he could b*#ch enough to get his penalty taken away or something. It was also a sneaky-dirty slash on Seguin. WHINER
That, and making the BOS/PIT game the late game Saturday night? Really? It was almost 8:30PM EDT before the first puck dropped. Didn't make much sense to me.

Seems odd to me; they could have started the BOS-PIT series on Friday night to achieve the same staggered schedule or have BOS-PIT play the back-to-back. Maybe something to do with other events scheduled at the arenas?
Then again, if a series takes seven games, those teams have historically had very few days off between series.
Agree. And, "Poor Me", I was in Central Maine (Belgrade Lakes Region) at a lake house with my good buds for a weekend of golf and hijinks, and we had no T.V. We were forced to watch the game on an iPad via the Bruins app which was streaming. Only problem was the rain / crappy signal was spotty at best. We kept losing the signal (Buffering...........
) and due to the late start, our full day of drinking beers in 90 degree heat and 27 holes in Maine made the wait brutal. We were happy with the result, however.
Home now (Cape Cod) and have seen and heard a lot about Sid's bitching. Grow a pair, son.
Hawks 4 - 2 win tonight over the Kings puts them up in the series 2 - 0.
Quick let 4 goals past him before the middle of the 2nd period - two of those were pretty soft. This illustrates why stellar goaltending is so critical in the playoffs. If any shift player has an off night, other players will take up the slack. When your goalie has an off night, it's almost certain disaster.

Complain? Hardly. Just the facts... Complain would involve emotional investment, which I clearly don't have. Crosby will hopefully mature someday. Until then, his reputation for whining and hiding will stick with him.
This is the first time in NHL history that the last 4 teams who won the Cup are left. Pretty crazy.
Here's another crazy stat : this was the first time they had lost a Playoffs game by any other score than 2-1, going back to game 5 of last year's Playoffs. Very strange stat indeed.
