NHL 2013 post season thread!

Glad to see the young man from Pittsburgh Brandon Saad get his first playoff goal! At 20 years old he's got a good future ahead of him. Had a gig last night so I didn't actually get to watch the game.

Today Malkin signed an 8 year $76 million contract. That makes me happy. Anything positive to numb the pain and embarrassment suffered at the hands of the Bruins :P

Sad that I went to bed after the 2nd.... period. Just can't stay awake that late anymore. Got to get up at 5 and go to work. And you can't program a DVR to jsut go for so many hours like you used to with a VHS. Bummer.

Gotta feel bad for the refs who skate the whole game. Their legs had to really be spent by the end.

My DVR allows you to modify "end time" or you can just record the programs the begin after the intended "stops". I cases like this,,,just in case,, I often have hours of crap recorded that I then erase.

I guessing that Horton is out and the speculation that I buy is a shoulder dislocation.

Jagr or Seguin to the top line to replace Horton?
I'd go with Seguin; Bergeron and Marchand seem to have developed a bit of chemistry with Jagr. Seguin has the ability to score goals - this might be the change that makes it fall into place for him.

Keep Krug or replace with Redden or Bartkowski or Hamilton?
Krug was the right guy to go against the Pens, I might be overreacting but I think the more stay-at-home Bartkowski might be a better fit against the Hawks.

Actually calling the first too many men on the ice might have helped the Bruins, too. How the EFF did they miss that? They were skating like it was a freakin' shift.

The injury to Horton is also a big blow. He has been battling an "upper body injury" and I don't think he is coming back. Krug has those moments of rookie mistakes that sit him on the bench, but his play has been otherwise fantastic. Holy crap that kid is fearless and quick.

Losing in triple ovaltine always hurts, but it would have been much worse for the hawks. Bruins are tired, but in their minds they only lost game one by the slightest margin. If chicago didn't have crawford doing his circus act in the OTs, they would be looking at a much bigger hole.

Awesome, awesome game, couldn't ask for a better opener to the series.

Go Bruins Go!
