NHL Regular Season 2017-18

Oh...Rutherford, if you happen to be reading this thread, would you please make a deal with CBJ to pick up Panarin?
He's good. Got himself a glove side high on Murray. I know, big surprise.
That first goal, where Rust went flying by him as he stopped on a dime. Beauty, eh?
Credit to Murray though. He stood tall against Panarin in the shootout.

Nice measuring stick game tonight for the Bruins vs. the Capitals. Holtby has never lost a game to the Bruins. Though the B's are on the upswing and Caps struggling, this will still be a good game to see how the Bruins fare against a team that has had their number for quite a while. Just heard that Rask is getting rest tonight, Khudobin in net.

I'd like to see Boston win that game.

Me too...BUT...the Bruins spit the bit and blew a 2-0 lead, and lost in a shootout. Oh well...it's a small consolation that they pulled a point out of the game, but still Holtby has their number. Caps were lucky it wasn't 5-0 after the 1st period, but once they got their heads into the game it was pretty even overall. I like that the Bruins look hungry and can hang with them, but they need to still learn how to finish off the better teams when they have the chance. Tonight was a prime example of that.

Leafs win in Matthew’s hometown. Strong offensively, weak defensively.
2 points, off to Colorado.

And took a few days off from TB, but Crosby is certainly a leader on and off the ice. There’s not a player or coach that’s played with or against him that would dispute that. Coaches literally have to force him to take a day off.
Maybe Pens fans that watch him day in and day out don’t see it, but when I watch a game, I’m blown away by his playmaking, hard work in the corners, and by the fact that he is arguably the best player in the game, he seems to find himself alone with time and space.

He may not be the offensive juggernaut he once was, but he’s still almost a point a game player, and the attention he draws from other teams leaves other players open. He may be a minus player this year, but that’s because he plays against the best defensive players in the league. Other teams base their entire game plan against covering Crosby.

Don’t dismiss the impact he has even when he doesn’t have the puck, there’s not a team in the league that wouldn’t sell their soul to have Crosby.

I'm happy just getting a point against the Caps - that shows progress to me. Khudobin made some great stops, that was a game that the B's could easily have lost in regulation.

Not sure what is up with Krug sitting at the end of the game and overtime - injury/ineffectiveness/both? Maybe the B's are setting up sitting Krug for some time and sliding McQuade back in.

Well, here you go: Bruins notebook: Coach Bruce Cassidy not happy with Torey Krug’s play on defense

I only watched 40 minutes of the Pens game tonight. The first 20 were solid playing. The next 10 were so-so, then the last 10 that I watched turned into a defensive train wreck. I don't know what the trainers, managers, and front office need to do, but those break downs are atrocious. Jarry played decently, though he also made some mistakes and at times seemed a little slow. Maybe missing the playoffs entirely will be a good thing for the team.
