One thing I learned this weekend was that Jack Eichel is actually capable of smiling. Kid always looks so down, like someone just stole his puppy.

Maybe the constant losing in Buffalo will do that to a bloke, but geez, you're in the NHL and making millions and millions. I'll trade you my job for yours in an instant!

I was honestly surprised when he signed that big contract this year. I understand the loyalty to the team that drafted you, but they have such a long history of being lousy, I wouldn't blame him for testing the free agency market.

Just the league moving younger and faster. Why spend $1m on an old guy for your third or 4th line when you can use a rookie for half that price?
It's sad though, hate to see two icons just fade away rather than go out on their own terms.

I guess these veterans think nothing is better than something. They aren't considering the cost/benefit to a team when they set their pricing, just figure they should be paid for their laurels, not what MIGHT BE left in them. I do understand how they must feel though, addicted to playing and watching it slip away.

Even though I brought it up, I personally don't care either way. My thought was that when you're that close to a record or milestone the natural instinct is to go for it. With their careers and legacies, nobody is going to remember the number of games played.

Mike...Naw, I think the Pens have turned the corner and will rise up the standings to a much better seeding. Not gonna overtake the division, but will be above the wild card chase for sure.

Once again, Im having faith in GM JR to squeeze a a sweet deal for some secondary scoring. Gonna be interesting to see which teams emerge as sellers.

Ditto here. I love Gretzky and Lemieux, but I've always said that if Orr had been blessed with two good knees, he would have been the GOAT hands down. Talk about revolutionizing the game! Not the all-time scorer perhaps, but the best hockey player ever. Just my two cents...

Or, if they had actually known how to rebuild knees back then instead of just butchering them...yup, and let's throw out another contentious topic....number 2...Gretz, Mario. Howe, or ......(let me start....Beliveau?)
