So the Panthers held off the"B's"tonight giving us that glimmer of hope-at least 'til Saturday. Then..........

Yeah, the Pens had so much to play for tonight, yet you couldn't tell by the way they played.

Although I actually admire Tortorella, I love it when he loses to Pittsburgh. (Truthfully I love it when anybody loses to Pittsburgh, but I digress.)
Torts' facial expressions tell you all you need to know about his emotions, and the look of exasperation, disgust, and frustration after Kessel's OT goal was the best part of the whole night. He didn't care that the Jackets made the playoffs...he was too pi$$ed about losing to the Pens. Again.

They did.
However, a regulation win all but ensured home ice in the first round and would have denied Columbus the playoff clinch.
Sure, Columbus would likely make the playoffs anyway, but what a nice statement to wrap up the season it would have been to show up and put a convincing win on the board.

I mistook Mike's 'Stupid Pens' post to be sarcasm. I thought the Pens played well considering they were already locked in the postseason. Sure, it would have been nice to win in regulation and make Columbus wait another day or two, but they could have just mailed it in and not cared if they won or not. Too much championship pedigree to do the latter.
Well, as of now, they still have home ice, and the other side is... you WANT to play Columbus, they're a good match for you guys. And that point keeps them ahead of NJ, who are on a tear right now, and are going to be a tough matchup for anyone.
If I were you, I'd be rooting for Columbus in their final game. And hope the Preds sit all their big guns for that last game. Devils face Washington, and may rest their guys too, so there's that.

Tell me about it, I'm rooting for Boston because I'd rather the Leafs face Tampa first round... and believe me, I throw up in my mouth a little bit every time I think it.
