I live about 10 miles from where he grew up (Scottsdale).
That was a thoroughly entertaining game. I don't much like Crosby but I have to say that if you don't acknowledge his supreme, league leading skill and talent by this time, then you're just being obtuse. The guy is incredible.
The pens were rightfully outraged at the no-call tripping just seconds before the empty net goal with plenty of time still on the clock. The ref was 10 feet away staring directly at a blatant and intentional (and dangerous) trip of a pens player behind the net and for some strange reason, chose to ignore it.
Yeah, the hat trick to tie the game was awesome, but unfortunately at the end of the night, despite scoring three goals, Sid was still a -1.
I didn't see the play you mentioned, but I did see him sprawled on his stomach playing defense for the Avs first goal. You don't see that from a center very often.
He turned his game around right after that goal. It's like he knew I was whining and crying about his performance.

B's retired Rick Middleton's number 16 last night. They hadn't issued it since 2013 so they must have been considering it for awhile. Panthers actually played the full 60 plus some OT and won against the Sabres. Tonight it's the Lightning. I'll catch the 'highlights' after I get home from the gig.

I dunno... Ever since Consol Energy Center (PPG) opened it's never been much of a home ice advantage for the Pens, especially against their cross-state rivals. Your boys seem to enjoy playing there.
As far as needing a goalie, I'll give you Murray for Provorov. No, really, I will.
Ha ha! No, I'd like to hang on to Provorov. I think the Flyers enjoy playing on the road because the home crowd in Philly can be brutal if they fall behind. I think the Flyers actually do have a lot of promising young players. They just can't seem to get it all together. Stolarz is their 5th starting goalie this year. But I WILL give you Dale Weiss and Jordan Weal for Murray...I dunno... Welcome back Willie! I called this one two months ago, pretty sure both sides had already agreed with it and the timing, because the longer they held off, the more cap space they free up in following years for the other kids. Pretty sure the league is going to close that loophole.

That move out of the igloo was terrible. Too bad all the billionaires and millionaires tore that building down for some new palace. Not even from day one did that building feel like 'the Pens' home ice.
That's what happens when hardcore fans get priced out of games and they turn into a social event. Sure, the arena is always packed, but we now see the kind of people going to games.
I've been in both arenas for games, more times to the igloo, and don't have much desire to go to PPG anymore.
