Not bad, front three are close, but have to say based on this year and not passed history, I would go with JT, Matthews and Kadri. And the back 2 are not even close. Moe is 8 points up on Letang (so far this year) and Marner leads the league in assists, so pretty clear advantage for the blue and white. And if you want to talk second PP unit, it is even farther apart. Marleau, Kapanen and now Nylander (might end up swapping Nylander and Kadri here) with Gardiner (52 pt. D-man last year...) and....well hell, they could put me out there and still be better than any other 2nd PP unit.
Well, if you want to talk history, come back when the Pens have won 8 more Stanley Cups. That will tie them with the Leafs….
Simmonds has been one of my favorite Flyers for a number of years. He's slowed down a bit, but he's still a great one to have on your team. Won't back down from anybody, and is always wreaking havoc on the opposing goalie's line of vision. I think the Flyers would part with him now though, if they thought they could get equal value in return.
As for tonight's game, it was good to see the Flyers playing a bit better. Stolarz played a very good game after giving up a goal on the first shot of the game, 30-some seconds in. Good to see that he didn't collapse after that. And I LOVE the Flyers 3rd uniforms...

Thought the same thing many times over the years. But I think it's about two years too late to really be effective like he used to be.
Unfortunately you're right, that certainly appears to be the next move. I don't think it's the right move, but it's almost a given.

On another note, the Cats managed to get 1 point offa the 'Ning, which is almost a win. The Panthers have been playing a little better lately and Reimer's looking better each game.
Watching the Red Wings-Avs game...what the heck were the refs watching? Red Wings got away with some real bush league stuff. Calvert gets checked in front of the Wings bench, where one of the Wings on the bench grabs his stick, then two more start holding Calvert and then sucker punching him. No calls at all. Not to mention a couple of cross-checks and other cheap shots that also received a blind eye from the refs.
I'll be disappointed of the league doesn't suspend Bertuzzi for a couple of games for his ridiculous sucker-punch, and at least give that weenie Larkin a game too, for his participation. Larkin won't touch anybody on the ice but he sure was brave on the bench surrounded by his teammates.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired defenseman Marcus Pettersson from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Daniel Sprong, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Pettersson, who is playing on his entry-level contract, is signed through the end of the regular season, and he carries an average annual value of $894,167. He will be a restricted free agent this summer.
Pettersson, 22, is in his second season playing in North America. This year, he has suited up for 27 of Anaheim's first 29 games, contributing six assists, a plus-4 and 17 penalty minutes while averaging 14:01 minutes per game.
The 6-foot-3, 177-pound native of Skelleftea, Sweden had been taking on a larger role for the Ducks over the past two weeks. In his final six games with Anaheim, Pettersson tallied four assists, was plus-3 and logged 18:22 minutes per night.

Whoa, that is surprising. Rutherford was a big fan of Sprong. I guess he got tired of Sullivan not playing him.
