Yes, and now Bergeron has one redirected off a skate. B's are covering all the angles.
A couple of games ago Brickley was pointing out how they were lobbing high passes that the recipient would glove in stride and drop onto their stick...pretty neat.
70's night in Pittsburgh turned into 70's night on the ice with all that fighting and rough play on the ice.
With about 13 minutes left and Florida down 4-1, they went into tough guy mode and start banging the Pens around. In something I haven't seen for years from the Pens team, they fought back and Florida mostly stopped.
Murray continues his hot streak, seven straight for him, and yet again secondary scoring comes up big.
Hornqvist took a puck to the face early and never returned to the game. Hopefully that doesn't turn into something long term.

I watch the Panthers regularly and never remember Weegar ever playing that physical and edgy as he did last night. How that 'fight' with Petterson ended up with each getting five minutes was beyond me...Weegar had his gloves off before Petterson was within 6 feet of him, immediately after roughing/high-sticking Sheahen in the face seconds earlier. But Letang got away with a flagrant interference call soon after that. Glad to see some physical play from the Pens...they usually won't play that style. Oh well, another win for the Pens and Murray.
I jest about this, especially with Canadians, but they give us hope by winning 4-5 in a row then tripping over the blue line for the next few games. They keep our hopes up right up to the last week-and then go golfing early. It's frustrating. 'Course they aren't the only team doing that, but they're the closest to me. Saving grace, I also love the Lightning. At the start of each season I cheer them equally until one(usually the 'Ning)steps forward. Good to see Vasy get in the ASG.We keep hoping we'll get an NHL team in South Florida.

Tortellini has already lost and ruined two good teams, and he is well on his way to trashing another promising team.Players can only put up with his crap for so long, and then they quit on him.
Sprong/Pettersson tonight in Anaheim.

In the couple of Ducks' games I've seen since the trade, Sprong looks like a totally different player...one who's shackles have been removed. Skating hard, creating space, making plays, etc. NOW I see why the Pens drafted him, but never saw him do much in a Pens' uni. But I'm still pleased with what we received in Pettersson, and would still make that trade again.
Same here. I read some articles where they said it just came down to Sullivan not liking the guy as much as the other players he had, so his ice time was minimal with the Pens.

Holtby and the Caps were too much for the Bruins last night. Boston played well, but is just not as good a team as Washington. Tomorrow night should be fun in Toronto especially as this could be a preview of the first round of the playoffs.
With any luck, Freddie should be back for that game. Last night we saw what they have been missing without Hyman, much better team with him in there.
Thats how I understand it too. It was pretty much the same story as Reaves; JR went out of his way to get him and he did what he was supposed to do, but for whatever reasons, Sullivan would give him the least amount of minutes as possible. Reaves was pretty good for a "tough guy" too.

Zach Aston-Reese out with broken fingers/hand? after punching that guy in the head the other night. Sucks, he's been making that 4th line look a lot better lately.
DeSmith extended 3 years at $1.25M per.

I can relate.
B's might have McEvoy back tomorrow which would be the first time the whole team is healthy at the same time (and yes I am knocking on wood, praying, and crossing my fingers as I typed that). The return of Bergeron has made the biggest difference, not only for his ability but it puts everyone else on the right line. Similarly, but not as big a difference to my eyes, is Chara's return which has stabilized the D-pairs, but the D seemed to have adjusted better to Chara's absence, than the O did to Bergeron's.

Yeah, but should have been Reilly....if he doesn't win the Norris, the fix is in...can't complain too loud about Skinner, he is having a great year.
I have to admit it,Reilly is having a dynamite season. I love blue liners with a scoring touch. The All Star voting has gotten squirrely over the years.
