NHL Season 2018-19

I pick on Murray all the time, but I'll give him credit when he makes big plays like this one tonight sliding over on Cam Atkinson from point blank. The video may surface later, but here is a screen capture of the save.
Look at that, Malkin down to his knee trying to help out too.

Important win last night too....thinking there are 4 teams trying for the last three spots, so should make for an interesting run to the finish line.

Pens looked good all around last night, and yes, I agree Murray deserves credit. McCann showed why they traded for him, chipping in two goals. Defensive call-up Trotman had a very strong game, IMO. (I was wondering where the two new acquisitions were, though. Gudbranson is dealing with the immigration process, but no word where Wideman was.)

Kinda feel bad for Seth Jones...first the slashing call on Sid's breakaway was weak, and later as time expired he had his pocket picked as Sid scored the empty-netter. Neither affected the outcome, but not a game he'll remember.

I remember that game vividly...doesn't seem eight years ago! As an American I was bummed,of course, but if you're gonna get beat, getting beat by one of the best eases the sting.

I also recall that flying back to Pittsburgh, Sid and Brooks Orpik (USA) were on the same plane. Someone asked Sid to show them the Gold Medal and, IIRC, he declined as he didn't want to feel like he was showing up Orpik. Showed more concern for his teammate than basking in his own victory. :thumbsup:

You could tell that TB was flat and looked fatigued from the back-to-back away games, and the Bruins seemed to have glue on their sticks and be in the right place at the right time the whole night. I was happy to see the B's win this one, but I really don't think this is indicative of the best TB has to offer, as we say in the playoffs last year. TB goalie was the only reason this game wasn't over early.

Props to Brad Richardson for his four-goal performance last night. The Yotes have been sneaking up the ladder (heck, I wasn't even paying that much attention myself) and now find themselves fighting for that last Wild Card spot with Colorado, Dallas, and Minnesota. I had a hard time believing in Coach Tocchet's program after the abysmal start to last season (something like 0-11 IIRC) but he's getting his message through now. Love to see them get in, even though it might be a quick exit. But then again, they are getting hot at the right time...
