NHL Season 2018-19

Wow Pens. Hammer down on a feisty Columbus team, and at home. Impressive.
That Bjugstad goal was a beauty, eh?
I don't remember the last time a Pens team outshot and outhit their opponent. Murray with a shutout is a distant memory too.
We'll see how it goes Saturday.

Agree completely. After the Pens took a 2-0 lead, the Jackets really pressed hard, keeping the puck in the Pens' zone for long stretches at a time, almost looked like they were on the PP. But Murray and company were up to the task, and exhibited some strong team defense. That was refreshing to see, because they're gonna need play like that come April.

Panthers lead 2-0 in the 3rd, lose 4-3. :banghead:
That one was a heartbreaker. I kept flipping back and forth from the Pens game to this one and was bummed when Boston tied it with 30-some seconds to go. And was absolutely stunned when the won it with another goal with 7 seconds left. What the heck?

Agreed. I was being facetious.

It's going to end, and I think I'd rather it happen sooner than later.

I agree. After a while it starts to take on a life of its own, and not necessarily to the benefit of the team overall. This happened to them last year, and I believe they peaked a couple weeks too early, and sort of stumbled into the playoffs. I hope that doesn't happen again this year.

Same. It reminds me of those seasons where the Pats keep winning. It's not always good for the team.

I want a healthy Pastrnak and a decent d-corps. I can already tell Grzelcyk is out for the duration.

There you go. For the first time in nearly two months, someone finally beat the Bruins in regulation.
Matt Murray keeps playing better and better. He even made some glove side high saves tonight that brought me out of my seat, like that shorty from McCann did.
Even Jack Johnson has done a 180. He was a plus three tonight.
I've been critical of Sullivan tinkering with the lines and piling up the minutes on Murray, but I think I'll shut up now.

Just wait.

If the Bs hold true to recent form, they'll score three times in the last twelve seconds of the game for the walk-off win.;)
I thought they just might do it, too, after cutting it to 3-2. Cassidy rolling the dice by pulling the goalie early nearly resulted in what would have been an amazing comeback. Good thing for us Murray has been at the top of his game again, as he's been this past week or two. Whew.

Once again spot on with your assessment, and of Murray. Made a couple of highlight reel saves, especially late with the splits (against McAvoy I think). His play of late will boost the Pens confidence and it's happening at the right time. Anything to avoid a first round match-up with the Lightning!
