NHL Season 2018-19

It's 1st intermission in the Wednesday night hockey game in Toronto hosting Chicago, and if you're a Leafs fan, then you are not liking what you just saw.

4 - 0 Hawks after 20 minutes. The Leafs looked like a minor league team the entire time. The fans booed their Leafs off the ice at the end of the period. Brutal.

We'll see if they can pull themselves together, but the Hawks are chasing a wild card spot and are playing like berserkers.

And now it's 5 - 3.

3 minutes left in the third and Totonto has pulled their goalie.

It's queasy stomach time no matter which team you're rooting for.

5 - 4. One minute left. Nail biter.

20 seconds to do. Toronto player deliberately kicks Crawford's goalie stick away. Crawford deliberately knocks the goal off its moorings. LOL!

And we're done. 5 - 4 Hawks.

Words fail me....
My words would get me banned here!
Crawford was pulled after the 2nd period due to illness. He couldn't have gotten ill a couple of hours earlier?
Kadri all alone in front of the net with 10 seconds left and shoots it into the goalies chest!
Babs had better find a way to get these guys motivated at the start of the game!
Andersen is either burnt out or hurt.

The Bruins got the Jets in Winnipeg tonight. I hope they can right the ship after the 2 recent losses that came after the long unbeaten streak. It will be tough without David Pastrnak, Jake DeBrusk, Marcus Johansson, Torey Krug, Matt Grzelcyk and Kevan Miller but I'd like to see them scratch out a point here and there so they can retain home ice against Toronto. Anyone know how Winnipeg has been playing lately?

Well, I think we both know how they played a few minutes ago.:banghead:

Welcome back to the ice Casey DeSmith, and he responds with a shutout.
I realize Buffalo is mostly lame, but this is a big win for the Pens to finally beat them.
Pens are playing aggressive and gritty hockey at just the right time.

I was thinking they might take their foot off the gas for this one judging by how they have mostly played against teams not having great seasons so far this year. Glad I was wrong.

11 games to go for the Pens, but they don't play either team ahead of them (WAS and NYI) in the Metro. They'll need help from others to climb over either.
That starts with me being a Detroit and Tampa fan on Saturday. Sunday I am a Minnesota fan, Tuesday it's Boston and New Jersey. Wednesday, it's Tampa again.

Yeah, it's it's that time of year when you root for teams you don't like to beat teams you really don't like.

Went to grateful dead night at Little Caesars Arena last night. I can't believe the wings gave up a 3-0 lead like that. I really wanted to see them get that win and prevent tampa from beating their regular season win record. So i'm pulling for everyone that plays tampa here on out.

And since the wings are officially eliminated it's time to hang up the VGK flag!

Watching the Marlies against the Belleville Senators....nothing wrong with AHL hockey....very entertaining game.

I really miss going to Plymouth Whalers games since they moved up to flint. OHL hockey was great. We had season tix back when they had Seguin, Wedgewood, Rakell, Trouchek, Noesen and Tom Wilson (who I can't stand now) and a bunch of others. I wish more people would go to minor/ junior league games.

My daughter(who lives in Orlando)and I try to get to Orlando Solar Bears(ECHL)games. She is off from work Fri/Sat, which, of course, are the nights our band works.:banghead: Good games, reasonable prices for decent seats, and a lotta fun.
On another note(sorry), GO BOLTS!

Definitely with you there. We've had several incarnations of the Phoenix Roadrunners over the decades I've lived here. In the years prior to the Yotes moving here from Winnipeg, the IHL version was some darn good hockey. Back then, the IHL and the AHL were essentially the same level, and I got to see many future NHLers along with a handful of former NHLers as their careers wound down. The later versions of the team were down the ladder league-wise (ECHL, plus the WCHL Mustangs) but still was entertaining to watch. Not many ECHL/WCHL players ever made the NHL, but there were still some talented players dotting the rosters.

Welcome Back!
Even if only for a day.

Tell us more about this Grateful Dead Night.
I'm oddly intrigued.
